Who was the QB they kept showing on the couch like a decade ago as he fell over and over? Brady Quinn?
Yeah. Quinn actually had some of the same knocks as Levis during the draft process in terms of being too muscular, too.

There is absolutely nothing authentic about the draft, everything is so staged and planned for the caneras

Looking at the Drafttek chart, some reasonable trade ranges to think about for the Pats tomorrow:

46 + one of the 4ths gets you into the 38-44 range
76 + one of the 4ths gets you into the 61-68 range
107 + one of the remaining 4ths gets you into the 90-95 range

So, tons of flexibility to move around for a guy the like...

So many intriguing potential options at #46 (or trade-up opportunities):

- Brian Branch
- Sam LaPorta
- Darnell Washington
- Michael Mayer
- Isaiah Foskey
- BJ Ojulari
- Keion White
- Adebawore

For WRs, I think I like Marvin Mims and Cedric Tillman the most.

Richardson at 4 is going to continue the futile efforts to replace Luck in recent years. After Gardner Minshew's magic dust wears off after 3 games or so, they'll force him into the lineup and ruin him for good.

Levis really isn't a surprise. Is he really any better than Desmond Ridder, Malik Willis, or Matt Corral? I don't see it that way and I think we'll see that come to fruition tomorrow. I think he falls to the third round. Hooker may end up ahead of him, assuming that his knee doesn't scare off everyone because he's a better QB.

It just goes to show you that the ridiculous hype some of these guys get is just not justified based on where these guys end up getting drafted. And yet people believe the Kipers of the world as being gospel.

To be honest, most analysts I read didn't love Levis or especially Hooker and often just mocked them in the first round due to a belief teams would be interested.

Richardson doesn’t need to sit. He’s only started 13 games. Yes, he’s raw, but he also needs reps and experience more than anything.

They’ll cater the game plan to him and have a ton of designed run packages and option plays, but I would put good money on him starting in Week 1.

Also, the analysts are always grading on a curve. QBs are valuable, and typically if you’re decent or really talented, you go in the first round.

What IS hilarious to me is all of them saying how we could have 3 or 4 first round TEs and this is the deepest TE class in a decade. Like, that isn’t how supply and demand works.

FWIW, I'm excited by Bijan, and I'm very happy the Falcons picked him. He's as close to a sure thing as there is in this draft, and he checks out as a high-character person, and after all of the defensive free agents Atlanta signed, an offensive pick makes sense - he's going to make Ridder and the rest of our offensive weapons better, and I trust Arthur Smith to make him work both in the backfield and occasionally as a slot receiver. I totally get the counter-argument that you don't draft running backs this early, and a LOT of Falcoholics are not happy with the pick...but I think it absolutely can work.

So what is everybody's (realistic) best case scenario for tonight? I haven't followed this draft at all but obviously our offense is fucking putrid and we need OL help and also WR/TE. Who should I be hoping we grab, either at our spots or through a trade up?

Are we doing rounds 2-3 here, or new thread?

I expect one or multiple trades by the Pats tonight. While they only have two picks going into the night (46 and 76), they also own 107, 117, 120, and 135 in the 4th round. I think they'll move up once or twice, and they also have the opportunity to package a couple 4ths to move back into the 3rd, if they want.

Trade up for Josh Downs, trade back into the bottom of the second round for one of Bergeron/Steen/Dawand Jones. If OT starts going early, get one of those guys first, then trade back into the second for Mingo.

So does Levis just go home? Or does he come back and hang around tomorrow too?
I say this knowing I really have no idea how I'd act, but I like to think if it was me, I'd show up today and just be in the crowd, cheering and booing picks, until they picked me.

Geno Smith basically did that and won points in my book for doing so.

Well, I don't think his sisters were really options.

Kind of hoping we stay put and end up with Darnell Washington at 46.

I think Bill will go BPA for the most part, but in my ideal world where Bill has me on his draft team I'd be looking at these positions and guys with our 2 picks (we may move around or end up with 3 as well).

TE: Mayer, Washington, LaPorta, Musgrave, Schoonmaker, Kraft (think this is an ideal spot to see who is falling and grab one of the last 2.)
Edge: Foskey (my top guy), White, Adebawore, Ojulari
WR: AT Perry, Mingo, Tillman (not as big a Downs fan, but if he free-falls into the 3rd... sure)
OT: Steen, Morris, Warren
S: Branch, Martin, Brown(Sydney)

My ideal outcome would be coming out of the 2nd with one of: Foskey,Perry, Branch, Mingo, Washington, LaPorta, Then getting Steen in the 3rd. But any 2 of the guys above would make me happy, trading up into the late 3rd and getting 3 of them.... even better.

The move is to show up today in pajamas and make it look like you slept on the couch and now it’s your new home.

A PJs handshake when he finally does get drafted will be an all-timer.
