I really don't see it. Basically every one of those I see the justification is something like "well Patriots have taken guys with short arms before" or "Well he's the best football player on the board"... which ignores that 1. "short arms" was still significantly more than Skoronski has, and 2. Guard might literally be the only position on the roster that they couldn't slide a guy into (they have last year's 1st in Strange and Onwenwu ) unlike many other teams who if Skoronski struggles at T can kick him inside.
Agreed. I think a ton of his appeal is tied up to "well, if he doesn't work at tackle he's a Pro-Bowl guard" and the Pats don't have room for that kind of player. I think Broderick Jones is raw, but his body type and profile is way more appealing as a traditional athletic LT type.

I’m big fans of the top 4 edges realistically available and I like Nolan Smith a lot too. My favorite is Foskey, then McDonald. (He doesn’t seem like their type), then probably Murphy and LVN. I think LVN is plenty explosive. LVN needs the most work but he has probably the best physical traits and athleticism. Smith I just worry about his size and what his role/fit is. He’s still a good pick. I would be happy with any of them.
yeah, i didn't mean to imply LVN isn't explosive, more that the idea he was some outlier compared to the others wasn't really the case, as Foskey and Murphy tested at least as well, and Foskey in particular was better in the tests that are used to measure explosiveness.

I’m sure you‘ve seen it but DJ compares him to AVT in this way and has Jets taking him. AVT played all over the line before he was hurt and says he could play next to Skoronski which either at OT/OG.

I tend to agree just thought it was interesting multiple ppl are mocking him to NE late in the process, perhaps they are copying each other. Worth noting the OT they invested the most time with is Brod Jones.

For those in the know, in the first rou nd does BB tend to stick to players he brought to Gillette and or coached at a senior bowl? I know historically the Pats have drafted late, so maybe not something that can help predict his target .

With the Celtics game on, I don’t need a spoiler free version of the thread. I’ll be watching the game on tv and jumping around on my phone to follow the draft.

All I want out of this draft is to come out of it with Myles Bryant no better than last on a hypothetical db depth chart. That’s all I ask.

Darnell Washington in the second round? Great. At 14? Oooff.
I didn't take that as Reiss suggesting Washington at 14.

Not sure he makes it to 46, but he is an interesting trade down guy late 1st early 2nd (as are the other top 4 TEs

Combining rumors, seems Titans/Texans trade probably a done deal.

Or I guess someone in Houston pulled rank.

deep inside Guido territory
The Patriots main issues on offense are tackle and explosive skill players and on defense the main issues are corner, EDGE depth, and deep safety. At 14, I am anticipating that the top options at tackle, corner, and EDGE are off the board and safety is not a priority in R1. With the depth at OT, I feel like they think they are OK there.

With that being said, my preference is to take the most explosive offensive skill position guy left on the board. Whether that’s Zay Flowers, Dalton Kincaid, or hell even Bijan Robinson do it.

I dont know much about Flowers. Is he a field stretcher? A chance to be a legit deep threat? Or is he another slot guy?
Undersized but not slot only, has speed to stretch the field. Think Brandin Cooks type player.

It doesn't make a lot of sense. If they're trading up to 3, it's probably to draft Stroud. & then I would think they would trade Tannehill & Henry to do a soft rebuild. Adding Hopkins along with a rookie QB & giving up future picks makes virtually no sense, & trading up for a defensive player at 3 seems a bit too all in.
Guess it depends on what they had to give up in addition to the 11.

But I think a guy like BB jumps all over that, gets Dhop, then trades back out to the #3 and accumulates more than what he gave up in the first place.

Is DBrickeshaw Ferguson really considered a Jets "legend"?

Good player, but was he a 'legend"?
Yes. He missed one snap over ten years and is in the ring of honor. For the Jets, that is a legend.

If the Stroud talk is true, Cardinals might have just missed their window for a good deal

is there a place to stream it for free?

I have various streaming things, but cancelled live coverage when the NFL season ended
