I don't want to belabor the point during this game but that Clark quote is a far, far cry from saying "my school by itself has put the sport on the map." I mean I'm not exaggerating the quote, she literally said "by itself."
Are we expecting 20 year olds to have perspective?

Best player in college basketball and the crooks in stripes making sure to keep her on the bench.

Mulkey spends most of the game ON the court whining, and the scared refs give Clark a T.

Refball! Too bad the final has devolved, was really looking forward to the stars getting to ball out.

The T is so ridiculous it makes me actually question the integrity of the game.

If these are the best refs in the country doing this game, I’m sad for the state of reffing. At least they are consistently terrible, so it’s offsetting to a degree but that Tech was craziness.
Refs with egos suck.

Refs lost control of the game.
they're calling it wayyyy too tight. no one wants to see the best players on both teams on the bench.

the shame is that fans new to the womens' game will think that it's not as physical when that could not be further from the truth. Both of the semifinal games were very physical in the paint and it was thrilling to watch them compete. this is bullshit.

Agreed. Terrible officiating for any game. Inexcusable for an NCAA Final. That was what I meant by “lost control.”

I'm happy for the LSU players if they win. Not happy for Mulkey. She might be worse than Coach K and Paitinio.

I thought NBA refs are bad, oh boy, these refs are worse.

It's not even that it's not physical, it's just fucking random. There have been fouls on both sides where it makes no sense. The T was just the icing on the cake.

They are absolutely not the highest graded officials.

All Championship officiating selections have a degree of politics involved but womens bball is off the charts IMO

Over on Twitter, Mulkey might be the bigger villain than the refs.

Refs seem scared of her the way NBA refs are scared of Draymond Green.

Ordinarily I try not to complain about officiating. Doesn't do much good, and usually the complaint is about a bad call or two. But this, the way that the refs just sucked all of the oxygen out of the room, has just been terrible. I can't remember a game, in any sport, anywhere, where the officiating from the first minute of the game, all the way through, has been this bad.

I'll second that.

I’d like to see a breakdown of the scoring with and without Clark on the court. I’d guess it’d be quite a close game were it not for her trapped on the bench.
