Rodgers appears on the Pat McAfee Show in under 30 minutes.

The sentiment I saw on Twitter was suggesting the Packers were jacking their asking price up. My guess is Rodgers says publicly that he’s going to the Jets in order to put the pressure on both parties to find a resolution.

For some reason I find it amusing that Ian Rapoport is reduced to live tweeting the Pat McAfee show.

So Aaron wants to play for the Jets but is throwing Green Bay under the bus saying they are holding up the compensation

Rodgers wants to play for the Jets and says the hold up is the compensation the Packers are looking for.

Looks like twitter was right.

Wants to go to the Jets, Packers want a fair compensation, Rodgers trying to push GB to get the deal done.

Rodgers says he's decided to play for the Jets. Only hangup is compensation.
Same. They just aren't meeting my asking price. I don't know why exactly, but in a sportsworld full of clowns (and worse), this guy's schtick bothers me the most (non-criminal division).

Green Bay played this perfectly. Now that the Jets are going on Aaron’s shopping spree, they are under tremendous pressure to get this done.

I love how McAfee said "The Stafford deal was different because they had to take on Goff's contract. This should be done because they're removing money from the books!"

Cool. Now show the dead cap hit the Packers take by trading him.

Could the Packers tell him to go pound sand after this?

I guess, in short, what are the cap implications if they just don't trade him. I'm sure they are not good, but as I understand it, trading him isn't exactly a good thing for their cap outlook either.

Any chance you could share that? We can't all listen/watch.
Paraphrase-

He asked Rodgers if he had come out of the retreat and the Packers indicated that they wanted to keep him would he have been happy to go back.

Rodgers said no even though earlier in the interview he indicated that the last conversation he had with the Packers was when they told him they wanted him to retire a Packer and he was going to contemplate on that.

Edit - put more succinctly here -

Rodgers says that, when he went into the darkness, he was under the impression that the #Packers would welcome him back. When he got out of the darkness "something changed."

Oh, now comes the airing of grievances with reporters part of this.
I'm not watching, if someone has a link, throw it up.

But if Aaron Rodgers thinks reporters have been mean to him, he best not fuck up in NY. That's a different media than the Wisconsin Gazette or whatever the newspaper in Racine is...

Aaron Rodgers has one 1 Super Bowl, a career playoff record of 11-10 and most of those 10 losses can be laid somewhere very close to his feet.

Fuck him, he'll never win anything again. The best thing he can do is shut his mouth, take his remaining 100mil, and then disappear from the collective conscience.

Rogers has all the leverage here. He goaded GB into extending him for 3Y/$150M, most of which was bonus money.

If he retires, that bonus immediately accelerates on to the cap (remember Gronk?), costing them $60M on this year's cap, and they get nothing in return.

If he's traded to NYJ, that bonus immediately accelerates on to the cap, costing them $60M on this year's cap, and they get...something in return. That something is what's being haggled.

All it cost Rogers was whatever was left of his reputation. This is a full heel turn. He might as well have cracked Bart Starr over the head with a steel chair.

Speaking of demands - man is spamming love for Davante Adams.
Five minutes earlier he was calling the notion of him handing the Jets a parchment with the names of people to recruit ridiculous and then he's "well lol there's ooooone player *wink wink* I would just looooove to be reunited with, not going to say his name though *wink wink*".

While NY media is more vicious than Wisconsin, I do think that difference is overstated, particularly in an age where the most biting criticism comes from all locations on social media. I mean, what, he's going to a TD-less streak and the NY Post will blare BARREN RODGERS on the back page? He'll be seen cursing up a storm next game and it's SWEARIN' RODGERS? He'll use the Staten Island Ferry to transport souls across the River Hudson and it's CHARON RODGERS?

(Though with how thin-skinned he seems to be, maybe even bad pun-based criticism would make a material difference.)

There's a widespread feeling that they were a good team being held back by historically awful QB play last year. If Rodgers goes there and wins something, he'll be a savior to a lot of NYC. Think of Schilling coming to the Sox in 2004.
Yeah I'm aware of that. I still don't understand why anyone would want to play for the Jets.

Was the parchment in the form of the preferred Jets stationary, aka, a napkin?

I think there’s a zero percent chance this doesn’t end in a dumpster fire.

Rodgers generally hates the media and has been surrounded by a team and community that has all but declared him a Demi god.

I think the ability is still there for him. He can still spin it. The Jets have a talented roster. But I think there’s going to be a big culture shock for him.

I'd also say that there aren't a lot of options for him. He wants out of Green Bay, Green Bay wants out of him.

He wanted the niners, but that ended 2 years ago. They don't want him. At this point the Jets with a decent defense is probably his best option.

Was he essentially saying he wishes he had gone to Vegas instead? Or did he say he chose the Jets? I wasn't really clear on that.
