After getting blown out (and embarrassed on national TV) by East Carolina 14 -- 5, the OU Sooners bounced back to beat Army, 10 -- 1. That will probably be their moral victory for this season. They just don't have the arms to go much further... Oh well, there's always the softball team, going for the Threepeat at the WCWS.

Contractually yea they do. Our special pricing/free stuff is contingent upon 100% usage of bats and gloves. Could someone sneak another bat in? Sure, but if your rep or someone higher up catches it on tv you will get shit for it.
Thanks- it is interesting to see which bats show up most often in high school/travel ball teams and then the usage changes pretty drastically in college, for the reason you explained. Do you have a breakdown of one piece alloy v. two piece v. composite? My impression from previous years is the basic one piece alloy is still favored by a wide margin.

We are a Rawlings school. Most of my guys swing the Icon which is a composite, but some swing the Velo which is an alloy. Last year, most swung the Velo. It depends what comes out on the market and what guys like that particular year in my experience. Guys switch up depending on how they’re doing at the plate too.

Miami pitcher just hit a Texas hitter (absolutely accidental) in the head (looks like it got mostly ear flap). He’s moving and popped up 30 seconds later, thankfully.

I’ve not heard of Dallas Baptist before thisnweek, but man those boys can play some baseball

——-

Tons of weather delays
Sort of good though as I am finally able to watch BC (no ESPN+)

George Mason beats the Terps 11-10 on a SF that may have been going foul

that line v Wake for the regional final is going to be insane
One of the biggest underdogs you will ever see

BC wins, plays Bama for regional final. Need to win 2 straight to make Supers. First one is in 3 hours or so.

They’ve been really good at baseball for years now.

The delays are an annual thing in this tournament given where in the country most of these regionals are taking place.

It probably ends tonight but proud of these guys for being resilient and staving off elimination twice. These guys must be exhausted.

Yeah I see that now. Kind of the first time I’m paying attention to the regionals in a long time

Definitely not the outcome I expected. Is the super at the Disch or Collie Station?
It goes to a bidding process - I assume UT wins over aggy.

We both aren’t Pierce fans - but he gets his team that aren’t deep ready for the postseason. He isn’t a good talent evaluater or recruiter which frankly is unacceptable but yea. Texas should kill it in this NIL era and they suck at it. It’s the best program in the nation by far - step up damnit.

Welp, full scale BC meltdown in first. Pretty ridiculous to start a baseball game at 10:40 though.

I know BC doesn’t baseball at this level much, but Ii’s how these things work. Games to play and weather to work around.
I’d be fine with it if BC had actually gotten to host a regional like they deserved this year. But they clearly don’t have the pitching depth to deal with a schedule like this.

It's do or die for Duke and the thread title's namesake.

Duke's pitching has been thin due to injuries, including my boy who had a blown save against Miami in the final weekend, and gave up back-to-back HRs in the ACC tourney for the L. He maybe shouldn't have gone in those games, but I'm not coach. I believe he can go tonight, as tiger baseball mom is in the building after seeing Swifty from the 2nd row in Chi two nights ago.

TCU is the host and indiana State is the visitor (because of lack of available hotel rooms in Terre Haute)
