That looks pretty right-handed.......gotta figure they would have more than 1 leftyThe bullpen appears to be about a week away from being potentially quite deep. Assuming the Rotation will be:
We are now looking at:
There is a lot to work with here. Not sure who goes when Shreiber is back and what to make of Bleier at this point...
The Red Sox hope Ryan will be able to successfully forage for food, shelter from the weather, and hide from predators. Perhaps even find a suitable mate out there.Ryan Brasier has officially been released.
I wouldn't read too much into him going unclaimed (and untraded for). Who wants to give up anything of value, or pay the remainder of his $2M salary, when they can wait for him to be a free agent and sign him for the pro-rated league minimum? Especially if we're talking about the low-budget Rays. It's official - if the Rays don't want your "reliever with STUFF" cast off, you truly sucked and should have been DFA'd weeks ago.
Scott is a poor man's Kaleb Ort...Scott is kind of an odd pitcher. Strikes out a lot of people, walks a lot of people. Short reliever. Never really shown an aptitude for baseball.
Has thrown 57% sliders...I wonder if the Red Sox see something they can fix in terms of one of the pitches or the pitch mix.
Worst part is finding out Schreiber still not ready for a while.
That is the meanest thing anyone has ever said about anyone ever.Scott is a poor man's Kaleb Ort...
I meant it as a joke, not as a personal attack. Hey, maybe there's something there, who knows? That is the meanest thing anyone has ever said about anyone ever.
Also, I don't really see the comparison. Ort throws 73% fastballs & I've given up on him ever being a competent pitcher. Scott I only just learned about so I have not given up on him becoming a competent pitcher, yet. I wonder if the key to unlocking him might be a slight tweak to his changeup...
The bullpen Trust-O-Meter may not reflect my own personal beliefs, but it's an easy way to keep track of who is currently in the bullpen...Is it time to start giving save opportunities to someone other than Jensen? Not exclusively but to test test the waters? I do not feel comfortable with a one run 9th inning lead and Jensen coming in.
I don't understand this at all. Before yesterday, Jensen had seven straight appearances (going back to June 6) with the following line: 7 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 8 K, 1 win, 4 saves. Since those back to back blown saves against the Cardinals, including yesterday: 14 appearances, 13.2 IP, 9 H, 5 BB, 3 R, 14 K, 1.98 ERA, 2.32 FIP, 1 win, 2 losses, 7 for 7 save opportunities. Is it time to start giving save opportunities to someone other than Jensen? Not exclusively but to test test the waters? I do not feel comfortable with a one run 9th inning lead and Jensen coming in.
Does not intuitively make sense….This is a pretty crazy stat...
Bernardino: Waivers (4/16) - released by Mariners
Garza: Waivers (4/28) - released by Angels
Jacques: Minor League Rule V (12/7) - from Pirates
Jansen: Free agent signing (2/$32m)
Martin: Free agent signing (2/$13.5m)
Murphy: 6th round pick in 2019
Ort: Minor League Rule V (2020) - embedded Yankee
Pivetta: Acquired in trade along with Seabold for Workman/Hembree - from Phillies
Winckowski: Acquired in Benny trade - from Royals
View: https://twitter.com/redsoxstats/status/1674583297966460928Considering he had a 5.83 ERA at home & 0.84 ERA on the road last year, I would be concerned about the opposite. Now if they have any promising hitters...
Better on the road, but 5ER at Fenway in 2 really bad games. They all count, but we're talking about 14 home games totalKenley Jansen = rich man's Sawamura...
Not sure what that has to do with my post?Better on the road, but 5ER at Fenway in 2 really bad games. They all count, but we're talking about 14 home games total
I hope this isn’t too game threading but Garza and Ort really need to be removed with Murphy and Walters fully in the pen. I didn’t expect to win a bullpen-starter game against TX but bringing in Ort was an early white flag.Should have saved Ort until we got this mucky mound
