All four American women who made the 3rd round are through to octos. All will be facing a higher seed in their next match. Anisimova (Barty), Pegula (Sakkari), and Keys (Badosa) have the toughest matches, Collins (Mertens) has a little more manageable opponent.
From the department of "shows what I know," Keys and Pegula are both through to the quarters.

Collins through to the quarters with a three-set win over Mertens. Anisimova is out, losing in two sets to Barty.

Tsitsipas and Fritz have alternated four single break sets, starting the 5th now.

I've been watching since the second set, and it's been pretty captivating - very impressed by Fritz in this match.
Yeah he is coming off a tough five setter over Bautista Agut but still looks great 3+ hours into this one, on serve at 4-3 currently in the 5th.

So much for that, Tsitsipas gets his break at 4-4 and closes it out, good match.

Madison Keys crushing #4 Krejcikova, 6-3, 3-0, in the first of four quarterfinals today (2 men, 2 women).

Edit: Keys tightened up and lost serve, up 3-1 now.

Keys got the break back and closed it out three and two over a clearly-struggling Krejcikova (appeared to have some heat distress).

All four quarters are on the same court so it’s possible to see all of them, that’s exciting.

Yeah nice job by Keys after that brief hiccup, Nadal/Shapovalov now.

Nadal fights through stomach pain to prevail over the 14 years younger (35 to 21) Shapovolov in 5 sets, 4 hours and 8 minutes. He gets the winner of Berrettini/Monfils (later tonight) in the semis, and he is lucky that the schedule gives him two full days off before the semis on Friday.

18 straight years now with at least one of the big three in the semis in every Grand Slam, I believe going back to the 2004 French Open. The final four there was dominated by Argentinians, Gaston Gaudio over David Nalbandian in one semi and Guillermo Coria over Tim Henman in the other, Gaudio winning 8-6 in the 5th in the finals.

Barty cutting through the draw like a hot knife through butter, 6-2 over Pegula in the first. If she finishes this, she plays Keys in the semis.

Similarly to Nadal, Berrettini won the first two sets against Monfils before losing sets 3 and 4 and then prevailing in 5, no tiebreaks in either match.

So Nadal/Berrettini is one semi.

Tsitsipas as focused as I've ever seen him, he knows that the quicker he can get through this, the better shot he has at Medvedev, and he knows that if he lets the young Sinner into this at all, it could snowball quickly. So now Tsitsipas is trying to close it in straight sets, unlike Nadal and Berrettini last night.

Tsitsipas 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in just 2:06, whoever wins this is going to earn it from here. Medvedev/FAA is the last quarter, up next.

Incredible level of play in this final match, FAA (playing the best I've ever seen him) won the first two sets over Medvedev but Medvedev has fought his way back into a 5th set, 7-6, 6-3, 6-7, 5-7.

FAA had a match point up 5-4 but Medvedev slammed his hardest serve of the match to get back to deuce, then two more service winners, then two more tight game wins, and we're starting the 5th, closing in on four hours in.

Both throwing heavyweight punches, both covering ground like it's the first point of the day, both fighting off break points and holding tough service games, and finally FAA is the one to crack, Medvedev up a break at 2-1.

FAA with another break point at 3-4 but Medvedev just picks up his game yet again and pulls out the hold once more, 5-3 now.

FAA with a tough hold to get it to 5-4, Medvedev will serve for the match.

Medvedev is too good. If he makes the final, I think he beats Rafa. But Tsitsipas also looked good today and he may give him a run for his money.

Amazing, FAA got it to 15-40 but four straight points from Medvedev ended it, 4:42.

Berrettini had 23 straight points on serve at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth set. But he blinked in his fourth service game in the fourth set, Rafa got the break, and that was that.

Barty wins. Won all 14 sets. Only dropped serve 3 times. 2 of the 3 were in the second set against Collins. Battled back from 1-5 to win 7-6.
I only watched casually, but it seemed like the wheels came off for Collins, rather than Barty finding another gear when she was down two breaks in the 2nd set. I feel bad for Collins — what will likely be the high point of her career was scarcely noticed in her home country, and I’m sure she feels she had victory in her grasp and let it slip away, even though she of course would’ve had to win another set.

Barty doesn’t look like she’s playing a different, much easier sport the way some past #1s did (Serena, Graf, Navratilova), but her game has no obvious weaknesses, which makes her a pleasure to watch when she’s on her game, as she was throughout this tournament.

Big credit to Barty who steamrolled everyone in the tournament until that second set against Collins, and there she came back beautifully, but I don't think she has had to face a top 8 seed in any of her three Grand Slam wins.

Crazy Nick Krygios and his childhood buddy Kokkinakis win the men's doubles, Nick's first and quite possibly last Grand Slam title.

Excited for this, have tried to plan my whole day/night around it. I am rooting for Nadal but think he needs to get ahead and close it in 3 or 4, if it gets to 5, I like the younger Medvedev. My prediction is Medvedev in 4.

I may (or may not?) have lost a last piece of my childhood with Brady yesterday, but I am thrilled to be watching Rafa in another Aussie final.

Nadal was serving 2-3, 0-40 in the third and came back to hold...then broke/held at 4-4 to win the set. Would be an incredible comeback, but Med looks a little rattled

Down 2-6, 6-7, 6-4, 2-2, and up 40-0 in the fifth game of the fourth set, suddenly Medvedev comes storming back to be up an AD. Then misses an overhead.

And eight minutes later, this game still isn't over. These guys are throwing haymakers at each other.
