Season 2 of Mac Jones. Really, his rookie season was very good. I'm hopeful his development continues and he and the offense can move the ball and score some points.

2021 ended poorly on the defensive side. Let's get this season off to a good start on that side of the ball. Create pressure, create turnovers.

Miami is good and is certainly improved.

I think NE is better.

Get the W.

From a Vegas perspective I guess the -3 line makes sense as it's in Miami and their both supposedly 8.5 win teams. In reality I would go a little higher (lower?) as Miami's home field advantage seems stronger based on climate. I think Mac is a better QB, our special teams will be an advantage but the Waddle/Hill combo presents coverage issues. So yeah, let's go O-Line

Money is coming in on Miami. Believe the line has moved to MIA -3.5 in most places.

I think Miami has more talent on both sides of the ball, though not by a wide margin, which is why I think the Patriots come out on top. In the end, the Mac/Bill combo is that much better than Tua/McDaniel. Then again, I'm in the camp that believes Tua doesn't have what it takes to play at this level without being totally coddled by play calling and the running game. If Tua needs to put together a drive, I'll bet against him every time.

I’ll likely end up eating crow… but I am not worried with the Hill matchup. J Jones+ DMac have limited him to less than 100 total yards, COMBINED, over the last 4 encounters. And Tua isn’t someone to make the insane wrong footed, across the body, numbers to numbers throw that Mahomes can, which Hill feasted on. The question is can Mills stay with Waddle ?

espn: Patriots coach Bill Belichick has never lost four straight games to the same opponent during his tenure with New England.

I am amused that the Pats have been vilified because they have been slow to pick up the zone blocking, Miami is learning this with a new coaching staff and offensive lineman with lesser success in the league except for Armstead. McDaniel did not call plays in SF, he is an unknown commodity. The Pats have issues but this Miami team is going from a hard-ass successful coach to this guy. I believe in BB, let's see what Miami has.

Hill had 64 yards against them in 2020, 62 yards in 2019, 42 yards in the playoff game in 2018 and 142 yards in the regular season game in 2018. Are those 100 yards just the receptions he made when double covered specifically by the J. Jones + McCourty combo?

What I saw has since been edited, but is still
ambiguous enough that I made the mistake of posting without verifying:

Outside of the AFC West, there may not be a team that has faced Hill more than the Patriots the past few seasons. After the speedster burned New England in his first few matchups, the Patriots have adjusted well, surrendering just 93 total yards in their last four matchups.

I just can't wait for them to beat the brakes off this shitty ass Dolphins team. So tired of the doom and gloom attitude about the Pats this season. These are the fucking Patriots, they aren't going 7-10 or whatever. This Dolphins team was super lucky to go 9-8 last season and they fired their coach because he wasn't throwing games like the scummy owner wanted him to do. Tua fucking sucks. Tyreek Hill is a child-beating piece of shit and is deservedly now in WR hell because he's relying on Tua to get him the ball. LFG.

Bracing for the ass-kicking.

Sky isn't falling. If history has taught us anything, a Pat's team starting fast isn't a barometer for success.

Build as the season goes. No injuries. Good line play. See playmakers make some plays.

Just enjoy that football is back.

The reason I did not vote in the expectations thread. I expect to enjoy watching football regularly again.

Jennings a bit of a surprise. We’ll see how it goes—I don’t have a great feeling about today or this team in general but that’s OK. The glory days are over; we’re just another team now so I’m looking for competitive play.

Mildly surprised about Jennings and Wade. I thought Jennings did well enough in the preseason to be part of the rotation.

Concerned that Meyers appears to be pretty limited - he is an excellent security blanket for Jones

Last season exceeded my expectations. Looking forward to hopefully another year of growth and improvement from this team as they find more of their post Tom identity.

F NFL/xfinity

Not watching/on the same IP as the xfinity home account and it won't let me watch the Pats live (or even NFL today)

Going to have to Red ZOne today (praying that works)

I'm too old to be sitting 210 minutes at a sports bar.

Low expectations going into this one. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised. Pats had a hard time winning down there with the GOAT… so yeah. It will be miserably uncomfortable. Went to the AB game down there in 2019. Week 2. One of the most uncomfortable fan experiences in my life. Brutally hot and I was just sitting there. I probably drank $30 worth of bottled water. Pats won that game like 45-0… kinda expecting them to not be competitive today. What have they shown us this off-season… not much. Hope I’m wrong.

Am worried. One of the dolphins folks is sure the dolphins win by a lot and can’t imagine any other outcome and there all psyched to have top three worst guys in football Hill on their team. Oh how oh how can we beat these guys when they have two die outs who have high speed on Madden?

But we have BB. Pats by eighty

I hate these Miami games - I was at the Steven Jackson game and that was one of the most miserable fan experiences of my life - blazing hot in January, they basically didn’t even try to win… f that place.

I went to the 2007 Moss game in Miami where Brady was just chucking the ball up to him all game and he was coming down with everything. That one was awesome.

I think today’s game will be…less awesome.

It’s a teeny bit crazy to me Tua is 3-0 against the Patriots. I feel like he hasn’t actually ever played a particularly good game against us.

I guess I get it, because of the network deals and all, but I'm disappointed that the NFL doesn't have something similar to MLBTV where out of coverage area fans can subscribe to get their team's games. Heck, they can even split the revenue with the networks.

Has that not changed at all with that NFL+ thing?
