Multiple times with the Pats if I remember correctly...
Yup, Giants in 2011. Tampa in 2013. Giants in 2015. Houston in 2017. Giants in 2019.

edit: it looks like the cancelled preseason in 2020 messed up the whole "every two years play against an opponent twice" trend.

Yeah. I thought teams made thier own preseason scedules, why would you pick a team you have to play during the season, and has this happened before with any other team?
In 2000, they played Tampa Bay in the final preseason game and then played them a week or so later to start the season.

Also, they have played the Giants and Eagles in every preseason I can recall, so every four years when they play those teams it happens.

For those of us in the NY market it looks like we should get at least 9 games on national TV this year. Not bad.

Packers
Bears
Jets
Jets
Vikings
Bills
Cardinals
Raiders
Bengals

they wanted to make a Watson joke.
I believe it also says “Cleveland is boring” in Japanese
@soxhop411 is correct. Kureeburando (Cleveland) wa tsumaranai. …which can translate to any of the following
dull / uninteresting / boring / tedious / insignificant / unimportant / trifling / trivial / worthless / absurd / foolish / silly / useless / pointless / disappointing.

no wonder it was redacted.

Edit: translation source (also I lived in Japan for 10 years and speak Japanese) https://nihongomaster.com/japanese/dictionary/word/747/tsumaranai

Glad to have Steelers (rookie QB or vet still learning the system) and Browns (Watson suspension) early in the schedule.
And the Chargers shitting all over Urban Meyer is next level stuff. What a brilliant presentation that was.

Actually laughed out loud when Staley smashed the GO FOR IT button. Well done. Cowboys Stephen A video wasn't bad, either.

The Jaguar in the Urban Meyer grinding pose fucking killed me, oh my god. How reviled do you have to be accross the league for a team to okay a shot like that.

Edit: also lol at the gravestone of Mina Kimes' football hopes and dreams.
did you see the front left gravestone?

Week 18 the Bills and Pats could play on Saturday which would be another game us in the NY area could see.

The Chargers video was incredible. My personal favorite was Derrick Henry as the Attack on Titan "Titan" creeping over the wall.

Not so sure about that. The league showed they don't really care about that issue during Covid.
That was a logistical nightmare that required rescheduling and shuffling of games which obviously doesn't apply here. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't see the league making a team play on potentially a 31-hour rest disadvantage on short notice on an already short week in the last game of the year. I certainly hope not, given the Bengals are playing the Bills.

The 31 hour rest disadvantage won't change, and both teams would find out at the same time, so I don't really see that having anything to do with the situation. Plus it could actually benefit the Bills, if they have a playoff spot locked up but don't have a chance at the one seed. The game wouldn't matter as much for them and they'd have an extra day of rest prior to a playoff game.

It's amplified on an even shorter week though. I can't imagine the league telling a team on short notice they're going to play the last game of the year on four days rest, but maybe I'm wrong. They're also unlikely to be resting unless they're locked into a seed, which usually doesn't happen.

Yeah they don’t really care about that. They set up short weeks during the playoffs now.
There's a difference between a rest disadvantage on a short week, which happens every week, and one on an even shorter week with short notice. I've been wrong a million times and will be another million, but I'd be shocked if the Bills or Bengals played Saturday. Plus, short weeks have happened in the playoffs forever - all they did was add another one.

I showed the Charger thing to my kids who are not that in to sports/NFL, but they are semi-interested in anime. That then led us to something I was not aware of, Detroit Urban Survival Training (DUST), which is apparently some kind of youtube phenomenon about how to survive in urban Detroit. Evidently, the Lions had DUST do their schedule release:

It sounds like the Pats are planning for one of the joint practices with the Raiders to be held outside, with the idea that it will help prepare them for week 1 in Miami.
