It should be clear by now to long time fans of BB that there is a market inefficiency to be exploited with QBs with a Z in their name.

That's all I've got.

There are still some interesting front seven guys available as FAs I guess. Hoping for some cast offs maybe? I don’t even know

I mean, are we witnessing Bill decide that the LB position is antiquated and go all nickel/dime packages?
You joke (I think)... but with the techmo bowl offenses being designed around the AFC right now, maybe?

There is one team that had a true smash mouth run game that has to be honored, right? As long as you can manage to slow down Henry in the playoffs, what does the defense need to excel at ?

I'm not sure I'm being serious either.

If Zappe sticks that’s a very inexpensive QB room for the next 4 years. Then you can splash the pot in other position groups. Of course doesn’t do much for 2022 season.

I mean, Zappe seems like a Mac clone. A backup with similar traits makes sense. Not the direction any of us had hoped but ok. Farewell Stidham.

I guess if they get the GOAT in the 6th and the 2nd leading playoff receiver of all time in the 7th, it can be a great draft

All jokes aside the Bailey Zappe story is a really neat one and his stats last year were comedically good. I get from the general scouting reports why Bill might like him

Perhaps but the C—USA isn’t exactly loaded with the nation’s best defensive backs

Combine 40 fastest remaining:

DB: Kalon Barnes, Baylor
TE: Chigoziem Ogwonkwo, Maryland
OL: Dare Rosenthal, Kentucky
Edge: Amare Barno, Va. Tech
LB: Troy Anderson, Montana St.
P: Matt Araiza, San Diego St.

Edit: Anderson long gone, I am reminded.
Edit #2: I'd assumed Araiza's 4.68 was fastest for a punter, but Camarda actually ran 4.58

For sure, he did throw all over some real teams in there though. The schedule looks tougher on the surface than what Malik Willis faced for instance (Willis is a very different QB though, not comparing them as prospects)

Wait ... the NFLN guys say that drafting smaller corners are trending to deal with the small, quick receivers?

Jennings was on IR all year, how much playing time should they have given him?
Said Jennings when I met Perkins. But still, it's not like Jennings played a lot as a rookie in 2020 either (33% of the snaps). Feel like we're counting on a lot of guys with very little playing experience to have huge roles.

I mean, the one thread with all these picks so far has been speed. Even the guard has good footwork IIRC.

Maybe I’m reading too much into it but it sure seems like Bill is maybe making a statement about how he thinks the game has changed and the kind of personnel required to be successful.

Welp with Howell gone looks like I’m rooting for Drew Lock and Geno Smith

Is it Kalon Barnes time yet?

(6' Baylor CB, 4.23 40, fasted among all CBs at combine)

Would hit the Pats 2022 draft quadfecta:

3rd guy fastest at their position
3rd CB
2nd Baylor guy
18th old guy (turns 24 in December)
