I "get" to be at a bday party for a friend of the little one this afternoon. Fortunately, it is at a bowling place which has food/bevvy service...so I am hopeful it will also have the draft on.

Thanks for starting the thread, T4W.

I didn't have the Pats drafting a WR until 6-7 or going the UDFA route. All I could do was laugh when they traded up and picked a WR.

Trade their first fourth-rounder for a fifth and a fourth in 2023

I like the individual players the niners took yesterday, but currently the team has no LG or C on the roster.

IOL today please Lynch.

Cole Strange should still be availa...nvm.
LOL - best post of this thread and we're only 12 minutes in

Straight off, Zyon McCollum listed as a best available and this is a guy we want. Tall, fast, CB and a captain

I'm sure this has been discussed to death elsewhere but I missed yesterday's threading & it's relevant to today's picks...I love that trade with the Panthers.

Why is everyone so intent on replacing Bailey (and, yes, I'm aware of the "punt God's" abilities)?

390 pounds at his age is really pushing it. The only regular OL within his weight class is Trent Brown, whose success at his weight is unusual.

At this draft slot, it is a sensible pick, though.

They do draft well too, it's not like they get the laurels on draft day and those guys don't amount to anything.
The Ravens have done really well with their top 1-2 draft picks over the past 5-6 years. I don’t think their mid to late round hit rate has been materially better than anyone else.

But if you’re getting good starters with first and second round picks that’s generally a successful draft even if you’re shooting blanks the rest of the way.

I think they're actually a better player development team than drafting team but that's a discussion for another day.

Ah, I didn't realize that he's so highly paid. Good point. How well does Araiza do on kickoffs, though? He'll have to do that too if they go with Folk.
The knock on Araiza is that while he's demonstrated a huge leg, he doesn't have much of a history of control/dropping punts inside the 20.

That's how they "win" every draft.
They sure do a good job with the draft. And the consensus opinion is that they have a really good head coach.

So why don’t they win a lot more than they do? What’s the flaw in their system?

Thanks. I think that they have bigger needs than punter (even at Bailey's cost). Will be interested to see where he goes and how/if he develops.

Sure seems like QB is a huge factor. The one year Flacco got hot at the right time, they did win it all

Well, they've had truly great QB play for two and a half seasons in the past 22 years. And even that comes with caveats regarding Jackson's skillset.

McCollum or Woolen perhaps to double down on the DB’s. Both fit the pure speed category. Of course, he’ll probably take Beavers now.

They're consistently solid & do consistently solid things, including making lots of picks.

They lack elite QB play with the exception of the LJax supernova period (& the one Flacco run) & are more consistently good than top end all-in for a season.
