The program I've been using is going out of business. They have recommended a new site that I'm going to use. I'm still going through it and will keep updating as we get closer. But you can go check out their site and create your profile for the new site. I always thought when they were done I was but I enjoy doing this so let's see if we can keep it going.

I've used runyourpool for football and been happy with it. Hoping it works out for you. I'll be in.

Was last year Fibonacci for round x team seed for points?

And what were they previous years?

I think the seed for points was what really threw off the weighting last year.

I think there are a few options that might have potential that retain some of the fun of going for underdogs. Let me see if I can find time to model and propose a solution or two by Monday or Tuesday.

Last year was the first year I tried it. All the other years it was 1 point for the first round and double the points each round so each round was worth 32 points. Plus the underdog points which was if an underdog won you'd also get the seed difference between the 2. While acknowledging that might not be the best way it is the most popular way with the casual players. I liked the last year format in theory but I hated that it was all determined before the Final Four was even played. Which never happened under the old format.

I sometimes think to win you should have to pick the champion but I also think the first 2 rounds should be important as they are where 3/4 of the games are played. Shrugs

Well I will have an answer by Sunday. Looking at the program one thing I love about it is until the games lock each player can go and edit their picks. I would always would get emails about changing picks and it was either me making the change or deleting and having them enter aa new sheet.

For those who have no idea what they're doing when picking these things (like me), I am running squares.

Which isn't to say, don't join this one. I joined and consider it a donation to the winner :)

Looks like some cool reports will be available "Who to root for", etc. Proof is in the pudding though, but it seems clean.

Brackets: In
Payment: In

I took Friday off to bike and smoke meats (in addition to watching basketball of course) and almost had it in my head that's when the tourney actually started instead of tomorrow.

Is there a maximum number of entries per person? I thought I remember it being 5, but it looks like there's a few people with 6+ and one with 10.

I’ve never had a limit. I’ll say this it seems a bit much but he just likes filling out brackets. And the best he’s done is 5th place.

Looks like 287 completed brackets. I know a few of those likely didn't pay, but that's a good number.

Gonzaga: 100 picks
Arizona: 43
UK: 29
Kansas: 27

I literally have to do nothing now. Except I'm out and about out have to enter 2 of my non internet friends picks in. So we will have 289 entries

Well, that was a fun few hours before Kentucky took my bracket down the toilet with them. It's probably worth the $20 to get to watch that game though.

Oof.

Bracket 1 (Gonzaga): I had Kentucky to Final 4.
Bracket 2 (Arizona): I lost 3 Sweet 16 teams-UK, Colorado St., and UConn.
Bracket 3 (Providence): I had Kentucky in finals.

All aboard the Arizona train!

I had Kentucky losing in the sweet 16, so not as much bracket devastation as many. At 99.1 % in the ESPN universe. UConn was the only other loss in my 16.

My entries never made it past the first weekend but payment wise it's probably been my most successful pool. Just chasing down one more payment. I will post the dollar amounts for the top five when I get home tonight.
