Griffin is good value at 16; best shooter in draft possibly, albeit with lots of game and physical questions

LSU kid off the board...
His 17.5 hadn’t moved in the past month and that’s where he went. Who was the clownshoes who said the Celtics wanted him at 28? No freakin sh*t, who wouldn’t? I like this kid so much.

I posted last week that guys were sharing info that a bunch of teams had flagged him off their draft board for his physicals.

Edit: Just read that you mentioned physicals. Sorry.

Based on his suit, he wanted the C's too. Alas...

Detroit trading Grant to clear space to...take on Kemba for a buyout is uninspiring.

I guess time to move on and they got a 1. Plus they probably can only sign one guy, but still an interesting choice

I was hoping he was going to fall to the Bulls or the Timberwolves, because I thought he was going to be a great fit on a good team

So the Thunder got Ousmane Dieng from the Knicks for a future 1st and a bunch of 2nds…

The Knicks then acquired Jalen Duren from the Hornets for I’m not sure what..

Knicks then trade Duren and Kemba for another future 1st and 2nds

I think I have that all right?

And get the pick that they used to add Duren (and they saved $12M more on Grant).

They still have enough space to offer Ayton a max if that’s what they are planning. They’ll also likely only take a 5-6 million hit on Kemba after the buyout

It’s brilliant work imo. They moved an expiring contract and utilized excess cap space to get the young big they wanted. Gotta remember they aren’t looking to build a contender in these next 2-3 year they are setting themselves up for far beyond that window.

Memphis moving 22 and 29 to get 19 is a bit surprising, especially to take a guy I had not seen mocked above 25, but maybe they though they'd get jumped, plus few roster spots available.

Ha, the guy I liked if the Celtics traded into 28 just had a team trade up to 19 to get him
We’re going head to head on this one. Let’s check back in 3 years bc I don’t think he’s an NBA player. Not a super confident position on this but that’s my feeling.

16-17 Griffin/Eason the best picks of the draft (after Ivey/Mathurin).

It seems like a weak year. Banchero #1? Really? a lot of top 10 stiffs

Props to whomever made the title. Correct choice.

A lot of parents naming their sons some variation of jaylen. What happened 18-25 years ago?

Love Denver taking Braun here. This kid is going to be a real good Role player in this league.

I didn't see the Duke game. I assume he'll struggle against strength given his weight, but if he adds 10-15 pounds he'll probably be good in the NBA, since nobody will try to play him like a C. They'll have him as the free safety role messing up passing lanes, and picking up weakside rotation blocks.
It’s not only weight though. He has a very weak lower body base. Kids from Pacific and Pepperdine were pushing him off his spot. He got away with it bc he was so much longer than anyone in the WCC.

Really, I wasn;t smoking crack when I thought Braun could slip to C's. Man that FF helped him

Higher floor than Chet? Defense is outstanding, not much beyond the rim offensively. Safer at 22 for sure than 2

I was pissed when he left UNC for PEarl though.
