Tiger's 2nd on 14 from the needles with one window was so fucking good. Just off the back but 40 or so feet from the pin.

That was a vintage Tiger Woods recovery shot from the pine needles. He took a rip at it too. Seemed to react like he knows he has that gear but doesn't have many of those in him.

He got up and down on 1, 3, 7, 9, 10, 11. With all different types of shots required. His short game has saved him today.

It is worth noting that first round leaders rarely win the Masters. Only twice since 2000, Spiethin 2015 and Trevor Immelman in 2008.

Is Dottie on the course? I thought they didn't allow the walking broadcasters.
Yeah she's out there. Saw her on 13 in advance of their tee shots.

Also - these rounds are always slow. They have a very limited field so it's fine. But these are really tricky greens that take a long time to play, plus there are a bunch of guys shooting high scores out there too (the past champs, Ams, etc). This is normal.

Just noticed Scottie's shirt has the TW logo on the back. Don't think I've seen a player wear another players logo before? Not to mention he's world #1

The post-Tiger silence in this thread is deafening. (Quite justifiably, in large part - it's not been the most thrilling afternoon I can remember - but man, Tiger really is the straw that stirs the drink. Still.)
It's also 6 on the east coast so lots of people leaving work / commuting / dealing with dinner / etc
