And respectfully I ain’t no Pats homer and I don’t think Bruschi was better than Thomas.
I wasn't talking about you.

I don't agree with the certainty you express in your earlier statement (I don’t see how anyone could come to a different conclusion honestly), but I understand where you're coming from.

Fair that was too harsh. You’re right.

Just FTR too I had Hall 30th overall last year and 6 spots higher than where the Jets got him. He was my RB2 in the class and I thought he played well for you all.

With all due respect to the effort the Dolphins put in at Buffalo, the early returns on #7 seeds in the playoffs is not promising. Nobody in the AFC East except the Bills was an actual good team.

And even the Bills were done late in the season. Squeaked by the Pats b/c of KO returns, squeaked by the Dolphins b/c of Skylar, and then got crushed by Cinncy. A game they were never in.

The Hamlin hangover must have been a tough one. And losing Von Miller was huge, too.

Ooo000ooo you Jets fans are so cute.

You're right.

You would have been a contender if Breece didn't go down. Who needs a QB when you have a rookie running back with 80 career carries?

If the Jets were smart, they'd draft the best fullback in the draft with their first round pick. They already have the pieces for success. As long as Breece doesn't get hurt? Put them down for a deep playoff run.

Please point to one single person who claimed the Jets were contenders.

It really isn't difficult swatting away strawmen. But engaging with the actual words people use takes a little more finesse.

edit - I'm not even a Jets fan. So you got everything wrong. Solid.

Except this entire thing is spawned from my comment. That Breece being healthy wouldn't have mattered to the Jets this season.

As I'm the one who made the comment, I'm perfectly comfortable deciding what I meant by the comment. That Breece being healthy doesn't move the needle at all in their relevance as a competitive football team this season.

If people want to make arbitrary cutoffs - "they could have made the playoffs" - have at it. But that wasn't the point I made or how the conversation started. My point was that, nailing 3 draft picks is inconsequential by whiffing on their QB pick.

It was my way of taking a friendly shot at a rival fan base on the rise that has, unsurprisingly, devolved into showing how some folks travel from section to section of this board looking for reasons to be upset.

It seems like you're the one who is upset, tho.

You fucking people make me sick. It’s ok to come into the Jets forum and talk shit and yet everyone gets their little Pats panties in a bunch if we go into the Patriots threads and suggest they’re not as good as everyone thinks. Fuck you people, I’m done with this collection of douchebags and assholes.

You guys are hilarious. If TJ Watt doesn’t miss half the season none of this is even remotely relevant. Whatever. None of the seven seeds were going to do any real damage other than maybe upset a sloppy Bills team.

I gather you've never met Rick Burleson's Yam Bag.

I do not think a single person in this thread has said the Jets were a title contender. All that has been said is that the Jets were a couple of bad bounces from making the playoffs, so having Breece could have put them in the playoffs. Where they would have gotten CRUSHED!

I know luckiestman isn't a fan, and I understand, but if the Jets can't get Rodgers, Carr could really help that team.

But they've got to be able to protect him. He doesn't need a great line, but he can be pretty damn good with a solid one.

If the Jets do sign him, I'm curious to see how the cold weather thing works out. I have a feeling that if he was regularly working and practicing in that environment that he'd be fine. But I'm curious if it really is a thing or not, and if so, to what extent. Seven game out of 142 starts isn't a lot, but certainly enough to be interesting.

But regardless, I'm glad the Raiders are salty that he didn't accept a trade. Fuck them.
