I think the Flores news is more great than not, outside of rooting against the Steelers interests. He made a hell of a point, neither winning his lawsuit nor catalyzing positive change are off the table, and his chances of being back in the head coaching conversation in short order are now back trending in the right direction. That he has to settle for such a visible demotion is shitty, but I'm glad he'll be in the league this year and I (as I imagine goes without saying for all of us here) will continue to root for the events of the past few weeks to be a difference maker.

I guess the mixture of genuine concern and, for others, concern trolling about Flores’ career being over was unfounded.
Well I am genuinely amazed that a team would hire someone who has a pending lawsuit against their business. But I like Flores and I have a level of admiration for the Rooneys so this is good. I hope the team loses every game 4-0.

Aside from hoping Pittsburgh sucks out loud, I’m happy he found a job and is still in the league. I genuinely thought he’d be blackballed.

With so many departures from the Patriots coaching staff, I'm disappointed that they did not get him.

The departures were primarily on offense. Plus, with Prince Nepo and Mayo "leading" the defense, what role would you envision for Flores?

Well he took a job as linebacker coach, so you could start there. But after his tenure as a head coach, I would think anything - offensive line, special teams - would have been possible. (Good line about Prince Nepo).
