what will the 2022 broncos look like the team that beat dallas gave kc ciny a game or the team that lay eggs in LA PITT balt philly at home

the biggest thing is finding a new owner with the same vision mr b set which will be near impossible
num 2 is finding a new coach doug peterton jim caldwell or nathanlel hackett is my top 3
num 3 is upgrading at the qb spot

denver as of now has 39 players and 11 picks under contact for next season

here is a great recorse from mhr
https://www.milehighreport.com/2022/1/7/22870272/denver-broncos-free-agency-primer

for all the whining i did denver was 19 pts from 11-6

without a upgrade at QB denver is a 6-7 win team

here is denver 2022 sch
HOME - KC VEGAS LAC HOU INDY ZONA SF NYJ
AWAY KC VEGAS LAC JAX 50-50 @ London RAMS TITANS Browns seahawks CAR

Best case 11-6
Worst case 6-11

right now i say 8 wins

from den to win more games they must win in the div

I think Fangio has to go and will. It's a shame because he's an elite defensive mind - they just held the Chiefs to 20 offensive points with a decimated back seven. Obviously j-man can speak to this much better, but it just seems like they haven't gotten enough on offense for three years (really since Peyton's shoulder went south) and from the small sample of talk radio I heard when I was there for the Bengals game the media and fans certainly want him gone. I think they're an easy SB contender with Rodgers or Watson (and Wilson if he's not stuck in decline) - the OL is solid and Williams/Jeudy/Sutton/Patrick/Fant is a pretty good skill group. Lock obviously isn't the answer and I thought Teddy would be a good fit where he just had to play a game manager role on a team whose running game and defense could win, but he can only take you so far.

As an aside, I mentioned this in the game thread but the blue jerseys they wore today and used to be their primaries are the best colors in the league. That they switched back a few years ago to those ugly oranges is a travesty - bring back the blues!

I feel like Fangio will be let go but what sunk him was he hasn’t had a good QB. In 2019 he had Lock and Flacco. 2020 was Lock. 2021 was Teddy B and Lock. That’s an atrocious lineup at the most important position. If I’m Denver I would be extremely aggressive trying to get a veteran QB to pair with a good amount of weapons on the roster. I’d also invest in OL as that unit at least needs quality depth. Defensively they have a great base and Surtain is looking like a young lockdown guy.

I don’t think Denver is as good as TB was before they added Brady but they are in that ballpark. If Aaron Rodgers really wants to leave GB his best chance to win right away is Denver.

I think Denver may be in an even better position than Tampa was. The big key for Tampa was getting Gronk out of retirement and then hitting two absolute home runs with Wirfs and Winfield. I was surprised to see Denver had a below-average defense by DVOA (before yesterday at least), but they've been hit pretty hard by injuries in the front seven. If they can have normal health next year and get another pass rusher opposite Chubb to go along with Jones and Harris up front, they'll be a pretty formidable unit.

Hiring Pederson and bringing in Rodgers would be fun. Just like TB with Brady they will have to learn how to win/execute in close games. That fumble last night was fluky but Denver fans must have been waiting for something to go wrong that whole drive.

As long as Denver does everything to get a franchise QB then it’s a coveted job. They have enough ammunition in the first 3 rounds to get something done whether it be Russell Wilson, Watson or Rodgers.

Can’t say I understand this firing. I think he’s done about as well as a coach could do with the QB talent he’s had to work with. That’s how it goes, I suppose.

He’s 63 and 19-30 with no winning seasons - I don’t know who survives that without any prior HC success. The previous guy only got two seasons. Anecdotally, I also thought his game management was pretty terrible.

Kicking the field goal instead of going for it on 4th down in a game that had no playoff implications for DEN seemed to be an apt metaphor for Vic Fangio's makeup as head coach. That's not a defensible game management move nor an inspiring one that galvanizes a team to want to play harder for you.

The funny thing is they obviously played pretty hard yesterday with a decimated roster and nothing to play for, which is a credit to him. That is quite the metaphor though. 4th and 9s are hard and they're harder with Drew Lock, but they couldn't even kick a FG if they got the ball back.

i agree 100% even through i am rooting for LAC a raider win might help me more because they will be pressure to keep that staff and if they keep that staff rodgers only has 2 choies stay in GB or go to Den as GB wouild want a bidding war between den and vegas but Cle is a darkhorse as well if he wanted to push it

denver has had bad Inj esp the last 2 to 3 seasons Chubb has to play at least 16 games only played 5 this year reed/cooper combired couild get 10 sacks denver has to get stonger at the o-line and d-lines

i think 6 groups are in play 1 for elway and 1 for manning if manning group gets the team watch out because manning is the NFL golden boy

i mean i think manning took hgh while playing for den and the nfl coverd it up

On the latest GM Shuffle podcast, Lombardi said that, based on what he’s heard, Dan Quinn is likely to be Denver’s next head coach.

update

i no longer think rodgers is going to denver tenn is the fav for him

i expct players from GB esp Off maybe a SF o- lineman LAR on def with a vinking or two with no rodgers in denver denver can make 2-3 big adds to the team

team needs

1 QB Jimmy g or pickett
2 EDGE it comes down to miller or c jones here
3 O-LINE we need at least 2 bodies here
4 CB i am hopeing for calhand here or D Williams CB Rams
5 MLB it seems jewell will re-sign if he does u can cross off MLB
6 RB Gorden might re-sign but hackett system is 1-cut meaning a mid round rookie over time couild do the job

if pickett or a edge is not there at 9 denver shouild trade down and get more picks to build for 2023 2024

wow about this deal a major win for denver

look at it like this wouild i give up all of that for peton hgh manning yes

that gives denver a 4-6 year window to win a super bowl

people can say oh mahomes will be great for 10 more years and he will but reid will be gone in 3-5 years once hill loses his game breaking speed he will be torst kelce only has a year or two of etile high end te play and kc will lose their star S and others this year

LAC coach is too agg too in to the statsheet plus their ownship will not pay top $ around herbeat they will ex him to do it all
and vegas unless they make a huge leap on def they will be stuck at 8-9 9-8

i now ex miller back in denver then hopefully finding vets at OG CB to take 1-year deals

Congrats, J-Man. Going from Drew Lock and Teddy Bridgewater to Russell Wilson is pretty cool.

The price to get him didn’t even seem that crazy to me.

Enjoy him J-Man! He does stuff that just is amazing sometimes. He does some frustrating things too, but the good will outweigh the bad.

It'll be interesting to see how Russell does in a different offense.

Wilson is an excellent player…but it’s a fairly massive price.
to be fair this was always a chance but i through wilson was not into to denver
wilson is 33 should play at a good level for 5-6 more years
in a pefeact world Denver would had waited utill april 29th and kept the 9 pick but to get a top 5-7 qb this is the price u have to pay
i wouild had gave this up for manning in 2012 and he only played 4 years
teddy b was our best non manning qb and i wouild rank him around 18th or so way too safe with the ball i called him 2-yard teddy because he loved the checkdowns even on 3rd and 8
the only way this trade fails on denver side is inj even if wilson has the same nubers from last season that makes denver 7-10 to 10-7

Gotta be honest. I wasn't all that impressed with the Wilson trade, but I had forgotten about their WR/RB potential. If their OLine can hold up, this is a top 8-10 offense with potential for top 5.
