For those that have criticized CJM for his timeout usage, including myself sometimes in game threads, Monty Williams showed the downside of using timeouts early and not trusting your team. He only has one timeout left and then uses it with 24.8 seconds left down 2 so when the Suns don’t score the game is essentially over. It may not have mattered but it would have been much better to trust Paul and Booker get the team into something and hold the timeout in case you needed to advance the ball later.

Warriors with a 16-3 run over 4 min mid/late 4Q and take a 6-pt lead over the Wolves. Edwards and McDaniels espeically showing why you don’t win games in this league, especially on the road, with young players who don’t understand what is necessary to win game. They are still out there “playing” like it’s the 1Q while the Warriors stepped up their intensity and purpose down the stretch. Not the first time the Wolves have blown double digit 4Q leads this year……it seems like a once a week occurrence.

Edit: After I sent this Anthony Lamb, he of 70 career NBA games, keeps the Wolves in the game with a bonehead errant pass that results in a layup.

Edit2: Flashback to my summer league back in the day. How could that team of old D-2/D-3 players in their mid-30’s keep winning and making the Finals year after year going up against current 20-yr old D-1 players? I was baffled….once I hit my 30’s I realized why, BBIQ and experience matters.

Dame with 41. At the half.
Came here to post that the 100 mark is going to be broken in the near future the way todays game is trending. If Dame can get a quick 3Q start is there a better team to allow little resistance to giving up triple digits to a player than this version of the Rockets?

Clippers came out ready to go tonight. Down 6-0 and a TO after Jokic outran their entire team up the floor to accept a pass and lay it up before the Clippers even turned around.

11 or more threes in game

Steph 12 times
Klay 4 times
Dame 3 times ... and counting. Just needs three in the second half to get there.

No one else has done it more than once.

He’s come out for the 3Q playing the distributor role with a couple assists.

Thybulle gets a T, pleads his case with the ref with Billups right there, ref tells him why it’s a foul, Thybulle tells him why he’s wrong…..then ref gives eye roll to Billups and says, (lip reading) “Will you talk to him?”

You had to see it to appreciate I guess.

Jokic is the best player in the NBA at exploiting mismatches. If he gets a favorable matchup (which he often does) it feels like he takes full advantage of it 100% of the time.

Do you really think Kyrie is a defensive downgrade from Dinwiddie? I rate Kyrie’s defensive better than most (I gave him league average at his position) and while I’ve always been a Dinwiddie guy it’s been for what he creates offensively and certainly not defensively. The Mavs problems go much deeper than this…..they were before the trade too as they are devoid of quality talent throughout their rotation.
I don't, they are both lousy. Even if Kyrie is slightly better than Dinwiddie defensively (meh), the Mavs also gave up DFS, who was a very solid big wing defender. His absence means they are definitely a worse defensive team than they were a month ago. And Dinwiddie was a lousy fit with Luka as well, for all the same reasons that Kyrie is (I've never been a Dinwiddie guy, I think he's an inefficient oft-injured combo guard who can't play defense).

Ah yes, this makes sense. I forgot about DFS.

I feel like there's a shrinking window for Dame to get 82. Blazers, nothing to play for, let's get it done.

I'd love to see Dame prove me wrong but it feels like this was his limit. 22-38 from field including 13-22 from deep and a perfect 14-14 from the stripe in 39 minutes and he was gassed the last four minutes. Is it possible for him to be even more efficient?

I watched over half of this game and I’m not even kidding……I don’t recall Reddish being on the floor. Had to look back to see that he played 31 minutes. Oh the (not)fun of plus-minus.

The resistance provided by the Rockets probably made Dame feel like he was shooting by himself in his driveway.

He was definitely getting decent looks. The amount of work it takes to score, even efficiently, is crazy. Even against a poor team like Houston he had to earn the attempts.

I just wonder if he or anyone else can maintain the energy to keep scoring more efficiently, even against a soft defense.

This Plumlee/Bryant back and forth battle is getting violent! Now Plumlee going to get a flagrant after this review.

This denver team has early exit written all over it. They are so basic outside of Jokic. It's just murray crossovers and deep 3s

Kawhi with the lockdown D all 4Q and drains a Joel Embiid shot just after the buzzer.

We do not deserve 5 extra minutes of this. We are not worthy.

Clippers begin the OT just as they began the game. 7-0 Nuggets run in the first 1:10 and next possession MaMo somehow managed to hit the shot clock on a corner 3. Don’t ask.

Another garbage late game performance by PG. Cant wait to be rid of him once they get bounced from the play in.

Just a garbage ass team. No grit at all.

I hate this team. Just bomb out, they'll be lucky to even make the play in. Trash top to bottom and cant guard anyone.

It truly is a miracle to play through an injury so so serious it requires at least two...opinions...

Whenever there are multiple opinions it generally means the first opinion was season ending surgery. I know people hate LeBron but imagine if Pritchard played through and finished a game that required season ending surgery?
