Silver lining is both the Bucks and 76ers are on the first night of back-to-backs (Bucks get Denver, 76ers get Suns). Although the Bucks blowing out the Jazz is just what the doctored ordered for them. Giannis only had to play 25 minutes.

Denver, Boston, Philly, and Memphis are the obvious places we may be able to pick up a game.Screen Shot 2023-03-24 at 8.09.40 PM.png

Mavs lose to HOrnets at home. Still can't believe Cuban threw away so many assets on Kyrie in a year they werne't going anywhere.

Embiid looking a lot like the best player in the world against the Warriors. 37 points with 7 minutes left, about to shoot his 20th free throw. +26 in his 31 minutes.

He's been amazing honestly. He's also mastered the "bring the ball up under the defender's arms and go for an and-1" move. You can see him purposely doing it and it's very effective. Seems like his final achilles is just being able to sustain the effort through 4 quarters against teams that play fast - seems like that has also improved a bit this season, but it's not quite Giannis level.

The Warriors are just great closers at home. Philly is losing this one.

Embiid runs out of gas down the stretch, and the rest of the sixers were unable to help out. The Sixers other than Embiid have shot 4-14 so far in the 4th quarter, pretty lousy considering how defensive energy the warriors are focusing on Embiid.

Tatum is getting better at that, do it properly and it's almost impossible to avoid fouling him.

Curry/Poole were 9-13 in the 4th quarter. Just too much without Harden.

It was stunning how sudden embiid hit the wall tonight. Not a great sign for their title hopes. Really fun game though. If they can get that Poole consistently I wouldn’t want to see them in the playoffs.

Good thing the Sixers signed PJ Tucker to a three-year deal.
He's like an Old School #5 starter that gives you 200 innings. Veteran in the locker room that for $10MM, he's going to show up every night, play D, & not bitch about how many shots/pointz he got/deserves.

Over the last 11 seasons, PJ has averaged over 76 games + 2200 mins every season. He's the very definition of a lunch pail player.

As much as I hate to admit it, Morey has done a really good job over the last 2 years with this group. Unloaded Ben Simmons.
Added Harden, Melton, McDaniels, Niang, and PJ for not much.

That's Tucker on a good night. He's had a lot of bad nights this season, most recently against the Warriors. He was 0 for 5 on 3s, and the ones I saw were open looks from the corner. To me, he seems to clearly be in decline.

For sure, he'll be 38 next month, the decline has been/is happening.

That's a rough night since they were probably all Corner3s, which is the shot every team works for in the halfcourt. He's 38% from there for the season, so can't fault him for launching

He could always be used as salary filler in a trade sometime over the next 2 seasons.

Wasn't PJ's deal done in conjunction with Harden taking a discount last summer?

Morey has built the second best percentage team from three in the league, at 38.8%, with seven rotation guys above 38%, including Harden, at 38.4%, his best percentage since become a volume shooter from three. They are only 16th in volume.

Man, Jokic gets Aaron Gordon so many easy shots. Milwaukee shooting 24% from 3 for the game, down 20 with 6 to go.

Looks like the Celtics are going to have the chance to pick up a game on both Philly and Milwaukee if they can take care of business against San Antonio.

Are the Heat actually any good or am I afraid to face them because of PTSD from last year

This seems like a classic situation where the Heat just aren't that good, but everyone has PTSD. Sort of a worse version of the Nets last year, where the team had huge flaws despite having KD and Kyrie, and having been a title contender just the year before.

Dallas is struggling against Charlotte, again (down 8 halfway through the 3rd), but even worse, Luka just picked up another tech and will be suspended for their next game.

AD was the last guy to turn down a supermax, right? 4 years ago now.

The Mavs situation going forward looks a lot worse than even the Pels' did.

Not to worry, Kyrie is digging deep -- when the going gets tough, the tough get....oh, wait...he's playing like he's checked out? Never mind. ;)

Man it's not just that they are in danger of getting swept by the lowly Hornets, it's that it may happen with the Hornets missing their top 3 scorers. The Mavs somehow missing the play in might be more shocking than the Lakers missing it last year.

In the end, a 3-6% shot at Wembanyama might be Dallas’ best hope of not totally botching the Luka era.
I believe their pick is top 10 protected (to the Knicks if it's worse than that), meaning their shot at Wemby is no worse than 4.5% (the odds if you have picks 8-10).

Kyrie's continuous flame-out is one of the more enjoyable sub-plots to this season.

Wonder who he pins this one on? Cuban, Kidd, Mavs fans, & Luka are all in the running

He’s going to blame the fans lack of faith in him and point to the Port Cellar as a major source of negative energy.

He’s already setting the stage to blame the Mavs fans and I would guess Cuban goes with that. Only guarantee is that it will somehow circle back to Kyrie being incredible at his craft

I mean, SoSH’s positive energy spoke four World Series titles, 5-6 Super Bowl wins (was there a Blinded by the Lombardis in ‘02?), an NBA championship, and a Stanley Cup into the universe. Is it that hard to believe Kyrie’s anti-science, anti-semitic dogma has been run over by the Port Cellar’s powerful karma?

I'll tell you right now, whether or not the guy said it, if I happen to be at a Celts game in which Kyrie is playing, I plan on doing my best to start a "the Earth is round" chant.

Dubs played like absolute crap tonight. This team will always be scary with Curry but they just don’t seem to be any good this year.

Warriors big time choke here at the end. Back to back TO's by Draymond (leading to a KAT 3) and then Poole.

Credit to TWolves for stealing it, though. Two huge threes by KAT and, man, Kyle Anderson is a winning player.
