Has the Ryder cup ever been won in the first two days? It’s possible but would require almost perfection right?
it’s possible. There’s 16 matches so if you have the cup you need to go 14-2 and if you don’t it’s 14.5-1.5.

JT has been the weak link for the US thus far. He's been involved in 75% of all the Europe scoring.

And, of course, the US had won about 100% of the holes this morning. And now JT and Spieth have lost their first hole.

Rory has been running hot/cold all season, you have to run him out there hoping he gets hot.

But who knows, he could have a nagging injury that we're not privy to

JT was grinding yesterday but was clutch down the stretch. Getting that half point was huge after DeChambeau/Scheffler couldn't close out Rahm/Hatton. Cantlay didn't have it and JT carried them including a big putt on 12 and a huge eagle on 16.

that's fair but maybe JT can take the afternoon off today

They were -3 yesterday but ran into Rahm They scored better than Koepka/Berger but got the wrong side of the draw. Also, KT scores better than Cantlay in the afternoon.
Big expectations were put on that group and they just haven’t delivered so far. Not a bad thing because the rest of the team has picked them up. I’d still sit JT this afternoon to get a rest.

So far I find no reason to question any of Stricker's moves. No one was expecting a shutout.

I figure JT will be given the afternoon off, just based on not wanting him to play every session. Even for these guys, 65+ holes in 2 days is too many.

I'm guessing Rahm/Garcia had 10 total putts on the front 9? didn't get a total but they put on a short game clinic

I find the refusal of the broadcast team to say “tie” instead of “halve” mildly annoying. What’s going on with that? Noticed it yesterday too.

If they went out 3rd yesterday they would be 1-0-1 and there wouldn’t be the “disappointing” chatter. They played fine and ran intoworld #1 on top of his game. It happens. Tough start this morning but 14 holes to go

everything about the broadcast production is crap. From the commentary to the # of ads, chyrons, updates, coverage, etc

NBC/Golf Channel making Rory look good

Apologies if this offends some, but I didn’t like Berger yesterday when he was a choking dog down the stretch and I don’t like him now when he’s mishitting balls with that ridiculously flat swing.

damn, I really liked Daniel at the beginning of the week but he's had very mixed results.

Holding off his swing, borderline shank a few times at the end yesterday

Four US players have played in each session this far: Cantlay, Johnson, Schauffele and Thomas. Based on how they are playing, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Johnson and Schauffele out there in the afternoon, especially if they can close out their morning match early. I'd expect not to see JT and Cantlay. I'm a bit surprised that Finau isn't there, but maybe they don't like his game in the format (why DeChambeau is sitting as well).

Europe has three players that have played in all three: Rahm, Hovland, and Casey. Being behind, Rahm and Hovland almost certainly will play the afternoon. They also have a much older team plus Poulter, who might not play at all today.

Dechamblees should be out there this morning.

And after Finau put on a clinic yesterday afternoon, it's sad to not see him out there this morning. Alas, there are a lot of great choices for Stricker on the US team. Some players will get shut out even if they should be out there.

But Dechamblees should be out there.

The Garcia/Rahm match is now all square. Shit just got real for Berger, not sure how he will respond. By the way, on yesterday's broadcast they explained why they are using "tie" instead of "all square". The golf channel broadcast was way better, as was this morning's first hour. Now that it's on NBC it's garbage.

Thomas just made a big putt, but is towing an anchor, and Cantlay/Schauffele aren't doing much. Not what you want to see.
