I thought Rory played 18 perfectly under the circumstances, like the seasoned winner he is. Huge shot when he reached the green in three after the drop. Did exactly what he planned with the caddie. How you deal with trouble makes the difference between the winner and the runners up. Admittedly, he got some help from the guy trying to catch him, who I thought was not aggressive enough to the green.

On a side note, I really like what I see in Abraham Ancer. He is going to be a good one. Manages his game very well.

Awwww...and then they had him speaking to his parents on a tablet, with Sky somehow having both sides of the video conversation. Amazing scenes.
My gawd that was emotional to watch. Twenty years, 478 tournaments. I thought he was doomed after the tee shot

I watched most of the back nine - Bland was clearly nervous, having failed to birdie either of the two par 5s at 15 and 17, and then at 18 his drive was very thin and cleared the water by maybe 2 or 3 feet. He then hit a long iron to 28 feet and drained the putt for birdie, and from his emotional reaction he clearly thought he'd won. He finished about 45 minutes before Migliozzi; how he managed to regroup himself for the playoff, I have no idea.

Especially the look on his face when he saw the drive on the playoff hole was in a slight divot in the rough, while Migliozzi had outdriven him by 50-plus yards. Migliozzi's approach shot was horrible from that position.

Way too many ridiculously low scores in Texas this week.....I hope they set up the PGA next week to be a bit hard

The Match is back. Phil & Brady vs. Bryson and Aaron Rodgers. July 6th at The Reserve in Montana.

How many exec's were high-fiving when Phil won the PGA 3 days before this release? Also, wonder if it was supposed to be Tiger until the accident. Bryson will probably be brutal with this.
It almost certainly was supposed to be Tiger.

That said, if the objective is to capture viewers, Bryson is perfect. He’s like a comic book character at this point.

Wow, my back yard. The elevation of Moonlight Basin is 7500 ft so expect the balls to fly. Hopefully the weather cooperates and it doesn’t snow. If anyone is interested, a review can be found here.

This is the 17th hole (777 yard par 5).

I heard today from a very good source that Tiger and Phil split up on these things business wise, so he was never in consideration. But interestingly, also heard it was originally supposed to be Mahomes, not Rodgers.

Maybe Mahomes is still recovering from foot surgery? Rodgers or Mahomes is a pretty good choice, tho. I just wish Bryson wasn't involved in this.

Spieth in the lead by 1 over Kokrak then a big gap to the rest of the pack. Looks like it's a duel between these two since the course doesn't seem tough enough to keep them anywhere near par. Spieth has to be a heavy favorite to hold on.

I'm torn.

I think its hilarious but at the same time its going to encourage people to keep doing it and I'm not sure that's right.

Unless they're both in on it, which is more than possible.

To be fair to Bryson, it’s unclear if he is asking for the people to be booted or if it’s the Tour. He denied knowing anything about it but he also is thin skinned so it can’t be ruled out.

I don’t think any line is being crossed by it, as long as they aren’t doing it in the middle of his backswing and stuff like that. To me, it’s no different than the mashed potatoes idiots, but amusing.

Nah its trying to get under a golfer's skin on purpose. Completely different than yelling mashed potatoes.

Now, is it stupid that it gets under Bryson's skin? Of course. But still.

Yeah, that’s fair. I guess I just don’t mind heckling as long as it is good natured and not in the middle of backswings.

I also don’t like Bryson (love Bryson as a content provider, think he’s a colossal dick) so that probably clouds my judgement.

New Jersey high school junior Megha Ganne, 17, is tied for third going into the third round of the US Women's Open

Alone in second is Jeongeun Lee6, whose last name derives from there being five previous players named Jeongeun Lee

The prime time commercial-free coverage has been excellent this week. The leaders tee off at 5:35 ET this evening. Ganne is a surprise contender, but there are plenty of big names near the top of the leaderboard. Rockland’s Megan Khang is also tied for 3rd.

Wow... Of course, we can't know the particulars of anybody's health history or anything, but how is he not vaccinated? That's an expensive choice.

He could be vaccinated and still test positive, that's just being asymptomatic...

I don't really see the harm in letting him play, these continued COVID rules are dumb.

Vax not 100 percent effective. Maybe he got the J&J, which was 66 percent effective in its clinical trials.
