Here we go. Quick turnaround this year!

The Greatest Fantasy League Ever is ready to start up again.

I started the same thread last year around this time, and I think we started the draft around the first week of December. The first tournament in our schedule will be January 14th, so we have plenty of time.

First, here are the participants, and what is owed for the league. I will update the list as people pay. As usual, @TFP is doing the banking. He prefers venmo to paypal, but I don't think its a big deal either way. Please PM him if you need to make payment arrangements.

Schedule and add/drops.

*Like last year, this is all subject to change with COVID. We'll do our best to stick to the schedule but if tournaments get cancelled, it will go back to the group.*

There will be 2 add/drops this year. The first will be after the WGC Match Play and take effect at the Valero Texas Open. The second will be after the Canadian Open and go into effect at the US Open. We will probably start picking DURING the tournaments for ease of switching the teams, but again it won't change anything til before the tournaments mentioned above.

SEP 2 - 5 TOUR Championship

The bolded (majors plus Players) will be $100 payouts. Having the Tour Championship winner is a $50 payout but that tournament is NOT included in year end standings. The rest of the tournaments are $50.

Due to last year, we'll have an extra $25 in the purse. I'd like to do something fun with it but I'm open to suggestions. $25 for the having the Gold medalist at the Olympics? $25 for first player who gets COVID?

We also have a 20th member this year. So I'm adding $50 to first second and third place year end.

Payouts are as follows:

- 26 regular tournaments: $1300
- 5 Majors (including Players) $500
- Fedex Cup Champ - $50
- Something fun TBD - $25
- End of season standings
--1st Place - $450
-- 2nd Place - $300
-- 3rd Place - $200
--4th place - $100
--5th place - $50
--Last place - $50

Scoring. Nothing will change unless someone strongly objects.

Stroke Play Scoring:
  • Winner - 15
  • Playoff Loser - 12
  • 2nd (plus ties) - 10
  • 3rd-5th (plus ties) - 7
  • 6th-10th (plus ties) - 5
  • 11th-25th (plus ties) - 3
  • 25th-cut line (including MDF) - 1

Match Play Scoring:
  • Winner - 15
  • Runner Up - 10
  • Semifinal Losers - 7
  • Quarterfinal Losers - 5
  • Round of 16 Losers - 3
  • Not making bracket play - 1

@TFP

You should have the Venmo from my wife. I look forward to another year of watching my team redefine suck in a million ways. If anyone wants to trade, I'm offering up my 1st and 2nd round pick, in the blind, for a ham sandwich and a sleeve of Pro V1's. Believe me, the ham sandwich is worth more than the combined 10 points I'll probably get from whatever assholes I draft this year.

Pick a random finishing spot between whatever spots don't pay out and give it to that? Most 69th place finishes in events? Most hole in ones for the year?

And feel free to make me ineligible for the extra 25 if you guys think that's fair since I didn't contribute to it in the first place.

I don't even know what to use to put together a cheat sheet this year. Should be an interesting draft.
Yup. The go-to list seems not to exist this year, so we're going to have to wing it. Wonder if that will cause a disturbance in the force?

Edit: Did we ever pick a start date for the draft? (Seems that we just said "first week of December." Which would be ... now.)

And I also have an add /drop suggestion.
I say we get rid of the add drop weeks in the year and just allow each team up to 2 add drops that they may use at anytime they so choose. If you do an add drop the new guy would be on your team effective the next Monday after the post was made.

I also see no reason we couldn't start now, just don't enforce any clock until Monday or whatever. And anyone who whines right off the bat about someone taking too long forfeits their 1st round pick.

I have a reason.

I have no fucking idea who I’m picking.

Just to confirm - the draft starts now, but the clock doesn’t start until Monday. No complaining about time taken for picks.
Is that right?
