There is no real place to put this...but I was listening to The Ringer's podcast on the 1990's-2000's Knicks (Shattered: Hope, Heartbreak and the New York Knicks...very good). It brought up the Stephon Marbury/Penny Hardaway trade that gave nothing real up to the Suns. Going down a basketball-reference hole brought me this transaction...WTF were the SUns thinking? Trading 2 1st rounders for 2 players that never played another NBA game? Tom Gugliotta is the player page.

February 19, 2004: Traded by the Phoenix Suns with a 2004 1st round draft pick (Kirk Snyder was later selected), a 2005 2nd round draft pick (Alex Acker was later selected) and a 2010 1st round draft pick (Gordon Hayward was later selected) to the Utah Jazz for Keon Clark and Ben Handlogten.

Complete salary dump? He was only owed one more year on a 6 year 60 million contract.

Too much is never enough to pay for Keon Clark’s upside.

This was one of the few NBA trades where multiple players later faced significant jail time. (Snyder the other)

Here’s an explanation:

LeBron apparently broke league COVID protocols by attending a launch party for his Tequila brand, but according to Woj he will not miss any playoff games because it was determined the extent of his interactions did not pose a significant threat to spreading the virus.

I appreciate the transparency in their hypocrisy.

apparently the reason is that everyone at the part was required to show proof of vaccination to enter.

Not to get all Skip Bayless but this feels like surprisingly careless behavior from a guy that is trying to win a title right now.

I thought I read it was proof of vax or test. What a joke that he's not subject to the same rules as everyone else. I'll grant that a brief outdoor event in a city where the positivity rate is very low is not dangerous. But ...the rules are the rules and should be the same for all.

Leaving that aside, even if the event itself doesn't present any particular danger, his BS attitude (didn't really say he isn't vaccinated, but sure seems to imply it) is a danger. The guy's a role model as he repeats endlessly, and I've defended him plenty because in general he's been an excellent role model. That goes way out the window if he isn't willing to model the need to get vaccinated.

They were not as good in the regular season as last year, but Milwaukee feels like a better team. Holiday is much better than Bledsoe, and Portis has been a great player off the bench.

This sums up Lebron James' NBA career perfectly.
Especially since timing wise - had he been sat for any duration due to the covid protocols (say the same ones that caused Schroder to miss 7 games), would have caused him to miss the play in game(s). So um, it would ptentially have knocked the Lakers out of the playoffs.

This is as BS as anything the league has done in a long long time. The restrictions put on all players for the health and safety of them all - but LBJ doesn't want to abide by them, so um... ok. Shmucks.

I'm completely shocked that the league has 1 set of rules for 99% of the league and another set for superstars like Lebron. I'm sure the pacers should have liked to have one of their best players available for the play in games.

One thing I think the NBA should really do is change the rules to make it harder for jump shooters to draw fouls. I know they don't want the Zaza/Kawhi situation, but so many times we see guys hit the deck off of minimal contact and get bailed out with 3 free throws?

Damn, Giannis misses his first FT then doesn't even take a second as he took too long to shoot it.
