Who is less likable: The Astros or TLR? Discuss.
While I don't find the Astors unlikeable, I am rooting for the White Sox in tis series. The very last thing I was to see is an Astros-Dodgers World Series, so the sooner either or both teams are eliminated, the better

Tony LaRussa and Dusty Baker first managed against each other in a non-exhibition game in 1996

In 1996:

Alex Cora was drafted by the Dodgers
Kevin Cash was a year away from being an infielder for Florida State
Dave Roberts was in the Tigers organization and played for the Visalia Oaks
Craig Counsell was a minor leaguer for the Rockies
Gabe Kapler was playing for the Fayetteville Generals in the Giants organization
Brian Snitker was managing the Danville Braves

They were both on the '71 Braves.

In the lineup together in Game 162. LaRussa's final MLB at bats. He got in one game with the Cubs in '73 but did not hit.

Dusty Baker is arguably the best manager in baseball history to never have won a championship. He is more than 200 games over .500 for his career, and has won 90+ games 11 times and 95+ 7 times, yet has only ever made it to one World Series, which he lost in 7 games in 2002.

Pulling for the Stros, due to family and the org has been incredibly good for my youngest nephew. If anyone else managed Chicago I might reconsider but I can't support him or a team that pays him.

Because he took out Russ Ortiz in 2002 and wore out Wood and Prior in 2003.

Nobody likes TLR. But I kind of like these White Sox for no good reason.
This is where I’m at. I also think - dare I say - TLR deserves some credit for keeping the White Sox in first while Jimenez, Robert, and Grandal were out.

On the other hand, I actually do like Baker. Every manager who was managing in 2003 would have treated Prior and Wood the same way with maybe one exception, and that exception is … Tony LaRussa.

Also I have been pronouncing Luis Robert’s last name the French way in my head this whole time, is that incorrect?

I am surprised the White Sox had no one warming before now. Does TLR still use a dog as his bullpen coach?

Chicago looks like a team that doesn't realize they're in the playoffs

AJP very impressed that the Astors know the rule that you have to touch the base on your way back on a fly ball.

Why is Lynn still in this game? I know TLR is follows the the 1800s analytics revolution but each game is so critical that you'd think they would change things up.

Ive only been watching for 15 minutes, and have already heard "glue guy" and "professional hitter." I'll have empty catchphrase lingo Bingo before the 7th inning stretch.

This is where having La Russa as a coach kills you - probably every other manager in the MLB would have taken out Lynn already, but La Russa left him in because I'm sure he follows a philosophy of "we have to ride our best players" or "he'll grit this one out" or other such nonsense.

TLR looked to be walking at an angle. Like Marty Feldman in Young Frankenstein

Bill James' "Baseball Abacus" pamphlets were revolutionary
"Cecil Fielder acknowledges a weight of 5.80 talents, leaving unanswered the question of what he might weigh if he put his other foot on the scale."

The ARod and AJP thing makes me wonder if being insufferable as a player is somehow attractive to the t.v. executives who hire broadcasters.

Could you imagine the two of them together? Throw in Matty V. & Jessica Mendoza for fun.
