Jazz crushing Brooklyn with Harden sitting.

Spida has 25 points on 7/9 shooting.

First time I’ve seen Doncic play in about 3-4 weeks. He looks like a completely different person and had to have lost 15-20 lbs in that period.

Beast! There had to be something going on in Brooklyn with the veterans for him not to be there right now. Crazy.
I’m still dumbfounded that Houston didn’t want him in the Harden deal. Rockets could have Allen, Mobley and Levert right now, and instead have Green and the ghost of Victor Oladipo. That’s a disaster.

The Harden trade sucked but the Rockets are probably in a worse place with Levert and Allen, assuming they didn't trade them for picks/youth. They also could have taken Mobley if they wanted and there is a chance with Levert and Allen, the Rockets don't up with their pick to take Green or Mobley anyway.

Sengun also has an incredibly interesting skill set and is putting up numbers at 19.

And the ghost of Oladipo is in Miami.

He needs to start turning the skill set into results, because he has a ton of talent. He’s a great shot blocker, but he’s a horrid rebounder, and he’s shooting 42/31 from the field, after 42/28 last season.

Is he a horrid rebounder or is he not asked to rebound? The Grizzlies lead the league in rebounding (and blocks and steals). Not by small margins either. 1.5 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks over 2nd place.

It's also crazy that JJJ is actually younger than Ja Morant. Less than a month older than Romeo and AN.

It's interesting to me when people say things like "he as to turn that skill set into results" when he's averaging 16.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.1 steals, 2.2 blocks, starting and playing 28.0 minutes a game for a team that is 36-18. This is especially amusing because it also coincides with JJJ returning from a season ending injury early on last year and he's probably still not 100%. Then on the same board (probably different posters), we have people talking about how young and promising RL and AN are and that it's too early to judge either of them.

Then again, this was the same board that was downplaying Tyler Herro last year and saying his trade value wasn't all that higher than RL. I don't get how this board evaluates other teams young players.

I should have said specifically this season, that’s my bad. I never touched on his value, or said he was a bad player though. He has always been a poor rebounder, this years 5.9 is his career high. He’s a very good defender, a great shot blocker, and an elite switch guy. I just think for his skill set, he should be more productive than he’s been this season. He’s shot 30% from three over his last 65 games, and 42% from the field, despite having the luxury of playing off of Morant.

I’d still trade every player on this team not named Tatum for him, just because the tools are so intriguing, and his floor is a DPOY type of guy, if he can stay healthy.

Lakers/Knicks are a prime example on why you take regular season 1H numbers and 1H offensive flow with a grain of salt in 4Q expectation/lineups. Knicks put up 42 in 1Q, 29 in 2Q……against very little resistance, open looks everywhere. Knicks scored 13 in the 3Q and have 15 with just over 2 min to go with every shot being contested.

Until the most important possession to contest a shot. LOL!!

29 minutes, 5 pts on 1-10 fg (0-3 from 3, 4-7 ft), -15 in a 7 point Lakers win. Benched in OT. That’s gotta be a low point in a mostly miserable season.

Lakers now an irritating 6-1 in OT games.
We always knew it would be bad once Russ lost his athleticism. I didn’t expect it to be this bad before he lost it. Yowza.

Mea culpa: The Hawks are not as good as I thought, even if they're playing better.

I'm guessing KD is unlikely to play Tuesday nite against Boston. Has he even been cleared to practice?
I’d guess you’re right but hard to be certain since teams aren’t really practicing this time of year so whatever work Durant is doing to return we aren’t privy to. It’s generally believed that this injury was similar to but not as severe as the one he had in 2017 when he missed 5 weeks. The original timetable for this return was 4-6 weeks with reports that he’s on pace. Could he be ready in 3 weeks? It seems like a stretch but if anything could make Durant, and the team, push the doctors to clear him it would be the team losing 8 straight so who really knows. Like you said, it’s unlikely…..but stranger things have happened.

The Bulls were down by 5 to the Suns with 22 seconds to go and didn’t foul. Both teams had their bench in. Phoenix inexplicably took a 3 with 7 seconds to go. Bulls get the rebound, don’t use their last timeout and get an uncontested layup at the buzzer to lose by 3.

Suns were an 8 point favorite in case you were wondering.

I don’t understand what some of these coaches are doing right now. Bulls empty bench down 15 with 1:41 to go. After the lead is cut to 11 with another FT to go (which the Bulls later missed) the Suns empty their bench at 1:12. Bulls end up cutting lead to 5 with :25 to go but they aren’t prepared to compete and don’t foul until the bench begins screaming at which point the Suns play keep away until :05 on the clock, miss a jumper and the Bulls come down to cut it to 3 at the buzzer. Wtf is going on?

thanks for posting

everyone needs to watch that CP3/JJ debate
It’s so cool to me to see these two grow up and become such good friends. Back when I was living in ACC country these two HATED each other and had some classic duels in those Duke/Wake games.

Seconded, that was very educative. It's nor so much that Paul "baits" him into the foul as Wob posts, but Paul exploits a mental lapse on how he should be defended.

Knicks @ Denver 60-83 at the half.

Denver had 40 in the first and 43 in the 2nd.

They are 30-47 from the field. They have 9 offensive rebounds. The Knicks have 10 defensive rebounds.

This is what scares me about Ja. He's such a freak athlete, one of these dirty fouls catches him wrong and his ass is flying half way across the court and done for the year.
We all have gone soft. Morris actually hit the ball first and his follow through knocked the far smaller player to the ground. No way he should have been ejected for that

MIL is getting scary good now.
They've had the usual ups/downs post a championship, more than usual due to Covid, etc -- but, beyond the tire fire that is the Lakers, the Bucks have the look of a team that will be great come play off time. Beyond how great Giannis is and how complementary Middleton and Jrue are to him, and how complementary the role players are to those 3, also just have to love the continuity and resulting chemistry they have.

I didnt think it was that dirty of a foul. I'm just saying separately, Ja is in situations where one day he may have an unfortunate landing, twist, turn, etc

Agreed. The focus hasn’t really been on them but I think they’re the team to beat. When they get shooting from their role players like Donte and Connaughton, they get really tough to deal with.

He definitely hit him in the face first, and it's questionable if he even got ball at any point. It's a lot easier to see the sequence in this clip:

Easy flagrant 1, but I'm not sure about the flagrant 2. He clipped him in the face and Morant went down hard, but it didn't seem malicious or intentional. No follow through like the Grayson Allen foul from a couple weeks ago.
