They are two back, and without the tiebreaker, with four to play for them and five to play for Spurs right?

Good chance LeBron shuts it down with AD right behind him.

Oh and if you’re a fan of NBA All-Star level defense you want to tune into Wolves/Rockets. They are pacing for about 280.

I think LeBron needs 2 more games to qualify for the scoring title. I'd be surprised if he doesn't "gut it out" to reach that threshold.

Jalen Green with his 4th straight 30-point game. Yes yes, end of season defending. Still, I don't see many 19 year olds doing this.

Fairly remarkable factoid cited during tonight's Warriors-Kings broadcast:

SAC seasons over .500
Under Adelman: 8-0
Without Adelman: 0-29

Kangz officially eliminated from the play-in race tonight, for anyone who was holding out hope.

Hey, the Kings have now made 16 straight lotteries and have somehow managed to end up without a single exciting young player, so enjoy your budding star!

You can replace “Adelman” with “Webber” too. Those teams, aside from being good, were so much fun to watch back in the early days of League Pass when they were late night must see.

This is true in spirit but the Kings did go 44-38 in 2006, a year after Webber had been traded to Philly. Adelman left after the 06 season, and not only have they not made the playoffs since, they've only won 35+ games twice (2008 and 2019). Trash pile of a franchise.

Amen to this. I just loved, loved watching those teams, with Jason Williams (white chocolate!), C-Webb and Stojakovic. The passing was unbelievable.

I’d argue that the league has never seen a better passing trio than Jason, C-Webb and Divac during their brief few years together.

Definitely fun to watch. Better as a passing trio than Tim Duncan/Manu Ginobili/Tony Parker?

Pure passing and playmaking? Yes absolutely imo. If you rank All-time passers from each position (using traditional 5 position) you’d have Vlade and Webber for sure in the Top-5 at their respective position with Williams rank depending on how you define passing.

This morning I've been watching bits and pieces of the Hawks-Nets game from the weekend, and apparently in that game Lou Williams became the first player in NBA history to play 1,000 games off of the bench. (Dell Curry is second on 985 games; I think Steve Kerr is fourth?)
Jason Terry is up there too. Kyle Korver as well. Both over 800.

Knicks up by 17 on the Nets with 2 minutes to go in the 2nd. Lots of time left but it would be sweet to see the Nets lose.

Nets give up 67 to the Knicks in the first half. Just no interest in playing D.
They have zero motivation this week, like many teams now shifting gears into playoff mode or Cancun mode. It’s the teams who have been out of it for awhile who can take advantage of these spots. I discussed this in the gambling thread. These Knicks are notorious for blowing big leads though so it’s not over just yet.

Yep. Waiting for Alec Burks to turn back into a pumpkin but thankfully it hasn’t happened yet.

The Knicks scored 15 in the 3rd then 16 in the 4th. I guess they were paying tribute to the nineties for the NBA’s 75th anniversary broadcast on ESPN2.

Shouldn't they be motivated to get into at least the 8 slot so they only have to play 1 game?

Spot on about the Knicks, holding true to form!

I don’t think they are going to be approaching games against lottery teams with any urgency for the play-in positioning. They either feel like a game against meh isn’t a big deal and/or they can coast against these teams and turn it on enough to win late……which is what they did the last two nights against the Rockets and Knicks.

Joker with 35 points on 16-24 shooting, 16 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals, 3 turnovers, and a gaudy plus 37 to lock down the sixth seed.

Embiid with 30 points on 10-22 shooting, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 turnovers and a plus 8 as his Sixers probably fall to fourth seed in a game they needed to win at Toronto to preserve a good chance at a higher seed.

Jazz were up 17 in the 4th at home against a Suns team with nothing to play for.... absolutely collapsed AGAIN, going to slide to 6 probably.
That team is getting blown up this summer. Question is, what can you even get for the non-Mitchell pieces. I'm sure there are teams that really like Gobert, but at his contract he's not exactly a huge plus, and the rest of the roster is role players on neutral or worse contracts.

I don’t know why they’d blow up a team that’s won 48-52 game for 6 straight years (bubble yr pro-rated). It isn’t like it’s Pierce/KG on their last legs and you want to get some type of return. I’d expect some tweaks like moving Bogdanovich’s $20m expiring but unless they can get a big return on Gobert I don’t see where they can get back value to make blowing it up anything less than a disaster that ultimately costs them Mitchell too.

Maybe, but all the word on that team is it's toxic and their two start legit hate each other, and they fail every year in the playoffs.
