Losing to Houston bothers me more than Miami. The Dolphins are a divisional rival, these fucking jokers are just terrible.

I’ve felt for a while they were flying a bit under the radar. They would have a punchers chance, but the Ravens are a force. I’m pulling for them to draw the inside straight, however, because I’m spoiled and want the Patriots to host the AFC Championship. Again.
The invitations for the Belichick-Brady invitational would be extra fancy this year.

This is an amazing piece of information. Thank you.
I actually think I only got it half right. It’s a weird rule. You cannot cause a fumble of a player who has a body part (not hands or feet) down. It ends the play whether or not you touch him. But I am not sure the play is over if you only touch the ball and not the player and he keeps possession.

In other words if the player is down and you punch the ball but don’t touch him (very rare) the play is over if the ball comes out but if he keeps possession I think theoretically he could get up and run.

If that makes sense.

It makes sense but is contradictory. Which makes it a perfect and typical NFL rule.

No test on this later though, right?

Quick Quiz: The topic is Patriot Revisionist Draft History
After New England selected Heisman Trophy-winning Louisville QB Lamar Jackson with the #31 pick, Baltimore selected this QB at #32.
Name the next QB (actually) drafted in 2018.

A: Mason Rudolph

Absolutely ridiculous by Singletary. That was 1-on-2 from a dead stop and they were both lying on the ground to the side of him a second later. Dude must be an aikido black belt or something.

Even if this drive doesn’t end in points Houston will probably be kept to 0, that’s just as important.

There is this list of “approved rulings” in the rule that go through a bunch of scenarios and give the result because the rules he selves are so vague. When you read them in order, when you’re done, all you can think is “why the fuck.” I think a few of them are to make replay a bit more easy with black and white seeming rules, but for the most part the only conclusion you can have is the rule is just because.

The down player fumble rule says the player is down if an opponent tries to “take” the ball. So it’s not clear a punch is a “take” but I am pretty sure I remember it from a game.
