Arians is a blah coach. If Brady and co want to be actually competitive they're going to need to perform better than Arians coaches.

The fact that he's won two COTY awards boggles the mind.

random thought/ I enjoy the visual in my head of a FF game where a player will now lose by .5 while having Kumera because he stepped out and Jones got 10 yards /random thought

Yeah, it's complicated. If Brady hadn't spurned us, I'd bet most everyone here would be perfectly happy having him back. And we'd likely have some frustrating games. Why the effort to show how oher fans' feelings are wrong? No one is saying you're wrong.
It’s not that anyone is right or wrong I just don’t get it. Maybe it’s an age thing, I have no clue how old all of you are, I might have felt differently when I was younger. Tom Brady walks on water as far as I’m concerned, and owes me nothing. I can see not caring one way or another, but I don’t get actively rooting against him.

I think the Pats with Cam will be better than they would have been with TB. That said, I love TB and Gronk and will enjoy having a second team to root for. I watched the entire TB-Saints game and didn't feel even a smidgeon of stress. If that was the Pats shitting the bed in New Orleans, I'd have been both furious and despondent.

Exactly the same. I didn't know how I'd feel, have been watching, and I'm realizing it's more satisfying so far when they underperform.
Yeah, it really is the ex-girlfriend amicable breakup situation. I wanted to be magnamimous and wish her well and let everyone know I just want her to be happy.

But, then as soon as I see her with a new dude, I’m kind of okay with bad things happening.

This Brady/Arians relationship isn’t going to last long if Arians is going to publicly throw Brady under the bus after every game.

On Tom Brady's two interceptions, Bruce Arians says the first one was a miscommunication between Brady and Mike Evans and the second one was a bad decision.

Bruce Arians put both interceptions on Brady. Said on that first one, Mike Evans read the coverage right but Brady did not. #Buccaneers

I’m with you. I am 100% rooting for Brady and Gronk. I love those guys. And always will. It makes me sad watching Brady have a bad game.

I'm 44, and I attended every single home game, except 1, from 1996-2014, including the playoffs. Tom Brady could literally shit on my front steps every day for the next 20 years, and I would leave the light on for him, and a box of wet wipes (because toilet paper is for heathens, and Tom Brady definitely knows this). Gronk would only be allowed to pee.

How is stopping your route reading the coverage right again?
Because the route tree might call for the route to be pinched off if there are multiple defenders in middle of field?

Unless you think Arians is throwing his new QB under the bus for the hell of it I think he'd know what they read was there.

Bummed me out to see him struggle, but I think he’ll put together a good season with all that talent around him.

If the OL can protect him, they’ll be fine. But it looks like a potential fatal flaw. Seeing Gronk out there bummed me out more. He’s running in quicksand and I really don’t want to see him get re-injured.

Those Arians comments aren't as bad as they are made out to be (and we need more context) but his style has to be jarring for Brady. Perhaps I missed it but I cannot recall BB saying anything like that since arriving in NE.

Why Arians didn't word salad that is beyond me. What is the upside?

I just want there to be no question that he is the GOAT. No matter what team he is playing for, that shouldn't be up for debate. Yet some people are in doubt.
If Brady falls off the cliff this season in TB, something that might have happened in NE, those same people who want to argue that Brady is not the GOAT will use this season as evidence that he was a system QB all along.

In NE or retired, he would be old. To Brady haters if he is bad this year it will because he was always over rated.

Fine, but at least hook there or otherwise give your QB a fucking clue you're breaking it off. And sorry, Arians has not earned the benefit of the doubt as a HC/mouthpiece. He could have just left it at "miscommunication," but no.

It's way too early to be making predictions after the 1st game of the season. Pats would have a lot less championships if the way they looked week 1 set in stone their season.

It'll be interesting to see how this Bucs team responds over the next 4 games.

How exactly would a WR "give his QB a clue"? The whole point of the offensive system is both QB and WR reading the defense the same way. You're acting like saying a QB made the wrong read means that QB sucks.

And Arians has been an NFL coach for close to a decade--in fact he's 85th all time in wins and something like 45th in winning percentage. Despite that I think he's a bit overrated, but when exactly would he get the benefit of the doubt on how a play his offense is running is supposed to be run?

The Brady/Evans connection will be closely watched next week. Was Evans simply blanketed all the time? Or did Brady miss him a few times?

Tampa did not impress, and Brady did look off at times. Gronk was a non-factor in the passing game, but seemed to be doing OK blocking. Definitely not the Gronk we used to see.

I think Evans is still fighting a hamstring injury too. He was doubtful to play on Saturday morning, then upgraded to questionable on Saturday, and then played Sunday. I don't think he was 100%.

He’s joined some elite company. Tom Brady is the first QB to have 3 straight games with a pick six since Matt Schaub and Blaine Gabbert, who both did it in 2013

Tom Brady is posting weird Camus quotes to IG at 1 AM that I’m reading at 4 AM. He’s got big missing an ex energy.

As a couple of others have described, I really didn't know what I'd think until the games started. As I was watching I came around to hoping the Bucs go 0-16 and Brady be quite ordinary. I certainly dont want him to get hurt or look pitiful (but losing his hair is acceptable). And while I'm not looking forward to the "was it really TB or BB?" nonsense, that was inevtiable.

In the FWIW department, Brady is now 2-4 lifetime against Drew Brees.

The first loss was in 2002, when Brees was with the Chargers, a loss that kicked off Brady's only 4 game losing streak. That was followed by a Chargers blowout victory in 2005. Brees was with the Saints the next time the two faced each other, which was the infamous 2009 blowout in the Superdome in which the Saints skill players easily danced around the old and slow Patriots defense (Adalius Thomas and Derrick Burgess), with the sideline conversation between Belichick and Brady eventually being captured in A Football Life.

Brady won the next two starts: the first on a walk off TD by Brady to Kenbrell Thompkins in 2013, and the second a blowout win by a Patriots team angry at being schooled by the Chiefs during the 2017 Kickoff Classic.

Next week will be Brady's first career start opposing Teddy Bridgewater.

He's like Anakin Skywalker. Right now he's flailing around in service of the dark side. Soon he'll be a force ghost and that force ghost will wear blue and silver and stand there next to Willie McGinest and Tedi Bruschi, waving to us from above.
