In the simulacrum
I didn't know how I was going to feel about this whole TB in TB thing, but turning the game on in the second half and seeing the score, it washed over me: I want Brady and Gronk to lose. I didn't think it would go that way, but I'm liking this.

But the receivers suck... Oh wait
If you think Brady sucks now and is done you should be glad he decided to leave. Yet you seem bitter that he left but you also think he sucks now? If he’s done the Pats made a good decision but do you fault the guy for taking Tampa’s money?

Playing for a team like Tampa, that just makes the worst mistakes, must make Tom feel like he's on a different planet.

I wonder what sort of ratings this game will pull in the Boston market?

And will we get bludgeoned with Tompa games this year in this market?

Same thing happened to me. I’m not sure why, I would have guessed the opposite.

Does Blaine Gabbert get a few snaps later?

for the record I think the Bucs will be ok and probably a playoff team but not the juggernaut some were guessing.

Were people guessing TB would be a juggernaut? Who? The Saints are the favorites in the NFC to make the Super Bowl. They are the juggernauts.

Yeah, it's complicated. If Brady hadn't spurned us, I'd bet most everyone here would be perfectly happy having him back. And we'd likely have some frustrating games. Why the effort to show how oher fans' feelings are wrong? No one is saying you're wrong.

I don't know if he sucks yet, we'll see won't we? I'm definitely bitter he left, we deserve the right to see him suck in a Pats uniform. He left and I'm not going to root for him.

I don't fault anyone. It's sports, it's fun to have rooting interests. Tom Brady in a Bucs uniform is not one of mine.

I think he underestimated A) how much continuity mattered and B) how much having great coaching mattered. Fundamental football. Not beating yourself. He can only help the culture by himself so much. The Pats work because they are a program. I think he’d be better off in NE despite the weapons because of this.

Yeah I was probably being a bit strong. I know the over is 9.5 wins but I’ve heard a ton of people talking about how they’re going to be a very good team and challenge for the division. Most “experts” I just looked at have them a bit lower which seems right.

Arguably, this is the toughest game that Tampa will play all season. They have the Saints again, the Chiefs and the Packers, but all of those games are at home. Coincidentally, the Bucs plan to allow fans at their home games beginning with the Packers game, which happens before the Chiefs and Saints games. Curious to see how home field is affected by reduced fans going forward. The rest of their schedule is really, really weak.

I think time will reveal that Belichick thought NE would be better off with Tom in Tampa.

Tom Curran had Tompa at 14-2, New Orleans at 10-6 FWIW..............
One dude out of 100s who make predictions isn't exactly a big sample size.

I really don't think TB is a juggernaut. They were ok last year. They will probably be a little better than ok this year. If they make the Super Bowl, it would be a humongous surprise. Tom Brady is 43.

Me too. Me too.
4thed? 5thed? But I know I am a petty a**hole. I hate Clemson because of a girl I dated a few years ago that I later realized hated LGBTQ+.

edit - I will always love TB for the 20 years he gave us, the greatest run in sports history. End of day it is a job for these guys and they want to get paid and try new things. Good for him. I wish him the best, I still have my Pat Patriot Red TB12 Jersey, but I don't have to root for him. And honestly, as others have noted, am enjoying the losing. I am a Pats fan first, hell I rooted for Hugh Millen in my formative years.
