The news today is that Barca are upset that Suarez had agreed to play for Atletico, even though Atletico was not on the list of clubs to which Suarez could move for free. So, we now have the Barca president, Bartomeu, trying to save face for letting him go for free by not allowing the move.

There's also a lot of smoke around Suarez's citizenship test for his Italian transfer. I can't find an English language link, but essentially it was fixed that he'd pass even though he didn't come anywhere near passing the test. I'm curious if this will be traced back to Juventus somehow.

Barto didn’t think this would come back to bite him?

Looks like Ruben Dias to City will complete tomorrow. I’m also probably going to write a nearly unhinged post in the “how do you feel about your club” thread tomorrow

Anyone know if the Zaha to Atlético Madrid rumors have anything to them? Ed Aarons from The Guardian, with a focus on Africa seems a legit source.

I haven't heard or seen anything. I'm not sure if anyone is buying Lemar, so I'm skeptical. And if a team were to buy Lemar, I'm a bit doubtful that the numbers work out (i.e., Lemar's sale value exceeds Zaha's price and Zaha receives a lower wage).

Maybe I’m misunderstanding you, but if Atletico *were* able to sell Lemar and replace him with Zaha, wouldn’t that be a good thing for them, at least financially?

Mind you, I’m a homer and would love to see Zaha in a Palace kit forever, and probably even more than I’d like to see a straight up trade, but I recognize that that may not be the consensus view.

Maybe I’m just grumpy for having been at that France-Denmark game in Russia, which was literally the most boring sporting event I have ever witnessed in person :)

West Ham bought RB Valdimir Coufal from Slavia... Soucek has worked out wonderfully so apparently they decided to go back in for his teammate.

West Ham loan Felipe Anderson to Porto because Moyes doesn't like him.

West Ham have now done this in the window:

In
Coufal

Out
Anderson
Diangana
Ajeti
Roberto
Zabaleta
Sanchez
Hugill
Cullen

Rumors that Snodgrass will be sent to Scotland on loan (basically a permanent since he has 1 year left) or permanent.

Currently here is the non-youth depth chart based on current formation;:
GK- Fabianski/Randolph/Martin
LWB- Masuaku/Johnson
LCB- Cresswell
CB- Ogbonna
RCB- Diop/Balbuena
RWB- Coufal/Fredericks
DM- Rice/
CM- Soucek/Noble
LW- Fornals/Snodgrass/Lanzini
RW Bowen/Yarmolenko
ST- Antonio/Haller

21 senior players only 3 CBs for 3 CB places, only 3 CM for 2 CM places (and Noble can't really cover either), 2 ST total (one a converted winger) This squad is a disaster waiting to happen if there is even a minimum of injuries (which given Moyes has been playing the same XI every match and hasn't made a pre-85th minute sub all season is certain).

And yet they won their last two matches against quality opposition by a combined 7-0. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I mean sure, the first XI is playing well. Of course we were in 5th through 7 weeks last season as well, then we lost our only competent LB and keeper and almost got relegated. Injuries are inevitable, and even if your first XI is prime Barca if you have no backups you're in for a rough season.

You missed Jack Wilshere getting released too.
yep.. paid 85% of his wages to get him to leave....
and then he leaked in his goodbye statement that he has been fit since February and Moyes simply hasn't selected him.... unless something changes this seems a season headed to disaster. An incredibly shallow squad paired with a manager who rides the same players for incredible minutes loads, and a huge dependence of 4-5 key players, 2 of whom have significant injury histories.... gonna be a wild ride

Just a FYI that EPL clubs can still do transfer business within the FA (i.e. with sides in the Championship). Not sure if other European clubs are still doing business?

Portugal is still open until the 25th, Netherlands closes today, Russia until the 17th/
EFL closes the 16th

Nothing is ever easy with West Ham.

Something they didn't like came up in Benrahma's medical, now trying to switch to a loan deal, with either an option or obligation to buy. Submitted a deal sheet so they get the extra few hours to work it out.
