Jimmy G comes back to Foxboro ... and, of course, facing TB12 and the Chargers

Home slate is awesome. Road schedule is A LOT of mileage. Hope to see one of those 2 weeks in a row scenarios where they can stay out West for Rams and Seattle.

Defense will be put to the test. They have to face Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson, Jimmy G, Kyler Murray, and Josh Allen.
Even better would be to book both LA games back to back and just stay there for a week.

If Brady is still here, I think the SNF games will be vs. Ravens, at Seattle, and at Rams. I think Fox will protect the 49ers game and CBS protects the KC game. I could see a Thursday game either a divisional game or the AZ game as the league wants to get Kyler Murray in primetime.

Nice for us west coasters I guess.
Eh, I prefer the 1PM Eastern games that I can roll out of bed for and then have my whole afternoon in front of me afterwards.

That said, looks like I need to finally get myself to a Hawks game.

Swapping out this year’s NFC East round-robin for the NFC West makes for a much tougher schedule. Three of the four teams in the West would be easily the best in the East, and the Cardinals won’t be a pushover.

Based on this year's records the Patriots have the NFL's toughest schedule next season. The entire AFC East is in top 5. (Yes, I know why).

The easiest? The Ravens.

Given the gift that the Patriots received from this year's rotation of opposing divisions (NFC East and AFC North), this seems like 2019 luck being balanced out a bit in 2020.

Peter King has a couple of scheduling nuggets in his column today.

--There may be an issue with Kansas City hosting the Thursday night opener on 9/10 at 7:20 CT. The Royals have an afternoon game scheduled that day at 12:35 CST and they share parking lots. He thinks they could open up with either the Texans or Raiders.

--He thinks Week 1 SNF will be at SoFi Stadium in LA and mentions Cowboys at Rams.

--With the Centennial Class of the HOF going on on September 18th, the possibility of the Browns hosting a Week 2 Thursday night game against the Eagles is high. Both teams have Centennial Class HOFers going in and the proximity to Canton can't be overlooked .

Ravens had this same problem several years ago, and they were able to resolve it if I recall correctly. Just a matter of the NFL probably needing to grease the wheels a bit. Not sure what they had to do it to resolve it during the Ravens/Orioles thing.

haha... I swear there was another one then that didn’t involve the team playing on the road. If not, just a bad memory chip. I’ll get it checked out.

Why wouldn't the teams you mention have a stadium? Why would college campuses have these games?

Rumors out there that the schedule is going to be structured as such.

Weeks 1-4: AFC vs. NFC matchups
Weeks 5-7: Equal Place Conference Games
Weeks 8-10: Divisonal Games/Bye Week
Weeks 11-14: Inter-Conference Games
Weeks 14-17 Divisional Games

So, here is what a hypothetical Pats schedule could look like
Week 1 at LA Rams
Week 2 vs. SF
Week 3 at Seattle
Week 4 vs. Arizona
Week 5 at Houston
Week 6 vs Baltimore
Week 7 at Miami
Week 8 vs. NY Jets
Week 9 at Buffalo
Week 10 BYE
Week 11 at Kansas City
Week 12 at LA Chargers
Week 13 vs. Denver
Week 14 vs. Las Vegas
Week 15 at Jets
Week 16 vs. Buffalo
Week 17 vs Miami

I’d like to revise my record prediction to 1-15.

If they're gonna do this hopefully they stack the Seattle and Rams games together. Let the Pats open at home, go on the road weeks 2-3, then come home, something like that.

So TruMedia is going through the schedule based on their EPA model, based on 2019 EPA the Patriots have the 7th easiest schedule

View: https://twitter.com/TruMediaSports/status/1258034183991148547
If the Pats strength of schedule ends up being anywhere near 7th easiest next season, I'll eat a log of my own shit. I think everyone is too easy to forget how much better the rest of the AFC East was over the 2nd half of last season. In the last 8 games of the regular season last year, the Pats, Bills and Miami all went 4-4 and the Jets went 6-2. All 3 of those teams have gotten better, and the Pats have gotten significantly worse (IMO, by choice, which is fine by me). Add in the Rams, Seattle, Houston, KC, SF, and Baltimore....

Plus all of the fucking travel across the country?

Yeah, I'll say it again, the bet of the century is the Pats under 8.5 wins.
