Slugger White going to meet with Rahm after to get his perspective before declaring a penalty is so dumb. Either the ball moved or it didn't.

Agreed the lie got worse.
The ball did appear to sink a tiny bit further into the grass, and for most amateurs that automatically makes the lie worse...but sometimes pros would rather have a ball in deep rough not sit up too high, in a way that they might slide the club under the ball without making a clean contact. (Not that I'm saying that was necessarily the case here; either way, I don't think it made any real difference to the tournament or to the greatness of Rahm's shot, even if I think it probably should be a penalty.)

Two-stroke penalty just confirmed, btw.

Slugger needs to make sure Rahm is a perfect gentleman like Reed before rendering a decision.

In all seriousness, the Tour needs to figure a communication plan for when these things happen so the player knows where he stands.

Fuck CBS for asking him the question the ball moving before he spoke to rules official. Or F the PGA tour for not making sure to talk to him about the penalty before the interview.

All that said, he gave a good answer.
Something about Rahm makes him likeable versus the something about Bryson that makes him unlikeable. They both bitch and moan but somehow Rahm doesn’t bother me. I can relate to the occasional club slam.

Faldo has been growing on me. I might be spending too much time watching golf.

Rahm plays golf and gets mad at himself.

DeChambeau believes he reinvented golf and gets mad at, well, everyone because he isn’t treated as a living deity.

Faldo has been growing on me. I might be spending too much time watching golf.
I think the British accent takes the edge off his commentary and makes him sound wise and charming rather than dickish, like Johnny Miller did sometimes. (At least to American ears.)

I say that as someone who feels the same way about Faldo. (I also liked Miller, though sometimes he would go too far.)

Rahm’s temper is about the only thing to dislike about him. He owns it too and just admits that’s how he is. I find it entertaining to watch.

Bryson has a temper too but doesn’t own it and lashes out at the cameramen and has his caddie run interference for him when he’s in meltdown mode. And the temper is reason like 7473294937 why he’s an ass and unlikeable.

Reds nailed it. Rahm can run hot, but his heat is directed inward. He's a player who gets mad at himself.

Bryson, on the other hand, gets mad at everyone else. He gets mad at officials. He gets mad at his playing partners. He gets mad at Blake Koepka. He gets mad at the concept of time. The difference is stark. If you listen to an interview with Rahm, his goodness shines through. If you listen to an interview with Reauchambeau, you want to punch your TV.

Rahm’s backswing is so bizarre to me. It’s really fast and short but man he generates some serious power.

Rahm is fucking awesome.
Hard to argue with this. How could you watch that post round interview and not love the guy? He's everything we should want in golf. Insanely talented, humble, fiery competitor.. what else could you want?

Faldo seems to have a sense of humor.

His backstory is incredible. He came to the US to go to college not knowing a word of English and listened to rap music over and over to learn the language/grammar since it had the most diverse vocabulary. Then look at him in that interview, and it's remarkable.

I've heard this backstory, and I have such a difficult time believing it. Not that I don't, but the dude speaks better English than I do. It's amazing.

Andy Brickley's potty mouth
Maybe I'm tired, confused and just not getting it (A/K/A - my usual state) but isn't that what most of us are saying?

The fact that he has a temper doesn't bother me a bit. Because he's not a dick about it.
I dunno, I actively tuned out after everyone was rooting for him to crash and burn yesterday. I missed some of the positive stuff posted today.

I was listening to the fairway rollin' podcast this morning. Some Jon Rahm stats. He's played in 100 events. He's won 10% of his starts. That is pretty impressive. But more impressive is that he's finished in the top 10 in exactly 50% of his starts. That is amazing. He's number one in the world, so it's not like he's out of nowhere, but that 50% stat is pretty cool.

Note, he's missed the cut in 12% of his starts.

These Wednesday afternoon 9-hole charity challenges that have become a thing post-shutdown aren't too bad. It's nothing more than a practice round but with the right group of players, it gets entertaining enough for a Wednesday afternoon time waster. Good way to show off some personality and learn more about the players. Today we've got Fleetwood, Casey, Wolff and Will Gordon in a scramble plus other assorted challenges. Last week was Rahm, Finau, McDowell and Poulter.

Lots of names on the leader board and in the hunt (in the tournament really) I have never heard of, which is good. Tells us more and more younger players are coming onto the tour. It also tells us lots of the bigger names are sitting this one out.

Richy Werenski is a local kid, from South Hadley Mass. Big Break winner too. The announcers pronunciation of his name is driving me nuts though. They’re calling him Rawenski.

I just don't get it.....golf channel literally shows every shot of featured groups (which is the point of pgatour live) how about you show other people and if someone wants to watch EVERY shot of featured guys they go to that coverage geesh
