Always a challenge to know how to react until the facts begin to come out.

But here's one thing I am sure of: regardless of whether the Pats did or did not have someone for Cincy's last game the league has an officiating problem it should be more focused on than it is!

I know its the Pats and what now, but is this even illegal? Spy gate was during the same game, is there anything about future games.

"Hey, we got penalized two picks and our QB got suspended for the stupid Deflategate nonsense, and a first rounder for the Spygate. But we're facing a 1-win team next week and so it's IMPERATIVE that we risk all that just to get film on the f***ing Bengals."

I cannot believe this would be true, but if so, the Patriots deserve whatever penalty comes their way. Because this would be, on the scale of dumbest things an organization can do, at the very top, based on their history.

Am I nuts or was the whole point that taping from the sidelines was the precise thing that was against the rules?

Edit: Also, "no comment but here's a comment" is some real smug bullshit. Grow up.

Are teams using hand signals anymore? I thought they'd moved to calling plays via the headsets.

I thought by rule you can record from in the stadium as long as where you record from has a door and a roof.

Two things:

1. Someone should have told the Bengals beforehand
2. The tinfoil hats will still think NE was cheating

The worst part about this is most people around the country will just assume they were cheating and not even care about the actual reporting. Already had a Steeler fan come into my office and razz me about it. “Caught cheating again” blah blah blah. F yourself.

I like how the Cincy reporter just causally tossed out the “video taping their play calls” hand grenade when that’s apparently the furthest thing truth.

They didn't tell the NFL before hand? That's a first round pick right there. The Pats will give their 2018 1st to the Bengals and call it even.

Obviously this is nothing.

And even if it weren't, what on Earth would be the problem? Tens of thousands of people can record a team's play calls every week with their phones.

Because the meatheads across the league, both on and off the field, have bought into a narrative whereby it is impossible that one team could be so successful where they have failed for 20 years.
