Mookie is now 2 for 14 this series. I've already seen some Dodger fans complaining about his October woes.

I'm about to stress buy baseball cards
I've got a bunch at my parents house you can have; I'll just have to take the clothespins off of them and remove them from my old bicycle tire spokes.

If you're going the Ebay route, stay away from a seller named champs and bums from NC; he'd steal flies from a blind spider.

Displaced
Hey man, I'm going through my mid-life crisis, and it just happens to be baseball card buying. Forgive me for finding an excuse to spend more money on them.

As an aside, I did buy a Mookie rookie last night, which I'mexcited to get in a few days.
I did the same thing after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. It helped me get through some PTSD. Bought a bunch of 1975 cards that my mother had thrown out when I was a kid. I feel better now...really.

the ease of this game and Wilson's ability to go 6 basically negate the mess of game 3. Just 3 hits for the Dodgers tonight, collective failure to keep the pressure on besides a 7th that got Will Smith up there and Martin up a bit.

From -12 to +8: I'm guessing there have been bigger run-differential turnarounds in back-to-back playoff games, but there can't have been too many.

I was absolutely ready for the series to be tied 2-2 after that game, but Bryse Wilson, take an absolute bow. The Braves needed him to go six innings even if he gave up 16 runs, just to revitalize the bullpen; for him to out-pitch Kershaw and give up only two baserunners in six innings was simply extraordinary.

So, if you're Brian Snitker, what is your starting pitching plan for the rest of the series? A few potential ideas:

1) Fried (short rest), Anderson (short rest), Wright (probably on full rest after his short outing in Game 3)
2) Fried (short rest), Wright (probably rested enough?), Anderson (full rest)
3) Bullpen game, Fried (full rest), Anderson (full rest)

I have no idea which option makes the most sense.

(EDIT - misspelled "Bryse". I'm ashamed.)

They said there’s no chance Fried goes on short rest, so it will be 3. They might even start Tomlin (!!!).

I don't think they were starting Fried or Anderson on short rest even at 2-2. At 3-1 it's a no brainer, tomorrow is a punt day if you need it (just like game 3 turned into a punt).

Playoff Kershaw.
I was intending to come here and ask if there was really as big a difference between his season vs. his post-season numbers, but then Mlb Now on mlbn did a whole segment on it. It's real and it's spectacular(ly noticeable). He is not the horse you are looking for a la Schilling, Johnson, was the conclusion.

Forget about the all time greats like Gibson or Koufax or Schilling. How many pitchers from his own era would you pick to start a must win game over Kershaw? Bumgarner, Strasburg, Verlander, Wainwright, Scherzer. And that’s just off the top of my head.

A.J. Minter is starting tonight for the Braves. My hope is that he goes one scoreless inning, then passes the baton to let Kyle Wright face something like 14-15 batters - everyone twice through the order except the top of the Dodgers' order, which he faces only once. He should have the arm strength for that, and not having to start the game means not being put in exactly the same situation he bombed in two days ago.

So instead of 3-0/shoestring catch away from breaking the game open/mistimed jump at the wall, now it's 2-1.

Great.

Moar runs please Braves.
