NFL always schedules on Saturdays in December
The NFL could have altered their schedule, knowing the NCAA had to alter their schedule. Because NCAA championship weekend is always after Thanksgiving. Except for this year, where what has always happened isn't happening.

Thus, we've got Clemson versus Notre Dame at the same time as Buffalo/Denver. And Alabama Florida at the same time as Carolina/Green Bay. But it doesn't matter to the viewer, because if the games were on Sunday, they would be up against all the other NFL games. Still, this seems like the NFL did this on purpose and I guess it's ok, because the NCAA deserves no pity.

I'm irrationally excited for the Browns/Giants game. I've become a closet Brownies fan
Well, as someone who was married into a family from Cleveland, a family who are diehard (and I mean diehard) Browns fans, I am with you. I met my wife in 2005. We were married in 2007. That loss on Monday was the first time I was genuinely depressed by the Browns. Before then, they have been so bad, it was never hopeful, just horrendous.

On Monday, I had hope when it was 4th down. And the Browns crushed that hope. My wife said I have finally earned my stripes.

No contest for me. Both the college games will be more entertaining than the pro matchups.

It's good that you saw the Browns lose in crushing fashion as that is par for the course when it comes to that franchise.

Let's see; the 1980 14-12 playoff loss to the eventual Super Bowl Champion Raiders when Sipe threw a boneheaded INT into the end zone where a FG wins the game, followed up by "The drive" and then "The fumble" for back to back AFCCG losses to Denver, then they got blown out two years later in Denver in the AFCCG, that's 3 out of 4 AFCCG losses, then Belichick comes along, in 1994 they are loaded, then owner announces the team is moving, the team goes down the toilet, Belichick gets fired, they move to Baltimore and proceed to win two Super Bowls................then Cleveland is "rewarded" with a new franchise that has never won the division, let alone a playoff game.

But hey, maybe they'll change that this year.

I'm thinking yeah; no.................Browns gonna Brown.

One of my cousins here in MA is a diehard Browns fan, followed the team since the mid 1970's, stuck with them all this time, never jumped onto the Patriots band wagon.

In some ways, I respect the Hell out of him.

In other ways, I can't wrap my head around what he was thinking all these years.

He loves the Browns...........................

It wasnt even that funny but that was the funniest thing I have ever heard Joe Buck say

edit: in regards to Mariota knowing he has plenty of time to warm up because he has watched his defense all year

How does the ref know where to spot the ball on shanked punts? What’s the process? I know the spot it where it crosses, what I mean is, the ref is like 20 yards away, what visual cue is he using to spot it?

I’ve always assumed it’s a guess
