I love Onwenu. This is such a great pick. They brought him in for a visit. Guy is such a mauler in the run game. I think he moves very well for a big man.
I may have missed it but is Runyon gone? I saw him a lot as the UM guard mocked to the Pats. How do they compare?

Onwenu was at the top of my day 3 OG tier. When he punches you you go down. They ran behind him at Michigan because the left side of their OL couldn't run block.

Now they need a DL, a WR lottery ticket and Hoyer insurance
And I assume a kicker in FA

But but but .... why would they need a guard???? :eyeroll:
I need to call Felgar and Mazz now and complain. Did I do it right?

Jon has a great athletic profile in general and he fits their IOL athletic profile but he doesn't move people like Onwenu does. Pats tend to go for maulers at OG later in the draft. Check out his 2019 tape vs Wisconsin - his punch = deadly.

Thanks. Kinda sounds more like a Shaq replacement than a Thuney replacement.

So far...

Stud athlete at S
Stud athlete at LB
Highly skilled, big-time player at LB
Big, strong inline TE
Versatile, athletic H-back TE
Kicker who can get it done in bad weather
Massive G who can maul people

From a player standpoint, this has been a good draft.

I secretly really want them to take YOLO at 195. I don't think they will, but man would it be fun

Here's one for Pats: is there a MLB prospect who was a stud HS QB prospect too and is now draft-eligible? Note: I realize this is not actually a great use of a pick

Herron really struggled at the Senior Boel drills. He's a developmental prospect. He has some tools. Reasonable pick at this range.

I’d feel better if Dante were still around to coach...atleast he was part of the pre draft scouting process and apparently have this kid a thumbs up.

Wake Forest OT Justin Herron
Zierlein's take at NFL.com tabs him an intriguing project:

Herron is flexible and athletic with the foot quickness to compete in a camp as a zone-blocking guard. However, he's often in a state of flux and having to fight for survival due to suspect hand usage and body control. He may not have enough play strength to withstand NFL defensive tackles in one-on-one situations, but he does have intriguing athletic traits and may be looked at as a developmental prospect.
Seems like an appropriate 6th/7th round guy.

Are they keeping Herron at T or moving to G? (Or using his flexibility to back up both)
