Per Governor Baker's 14 day quarantine orders when returning from high risk states, will BC student athletes have to quarantine when they return from road games?

Presumably not for the same reason the Red Sox won't when returning from Atlanta, Tampa, etc. But so much is subject to change over the next few months it's hard to make any definitive statements about how this season will play out.

Got it, and makes sense. I wouldn't be happy if my child went to BC (insert any university) and was on the same dorm floor as a student athlete who is traveling up and down the East coast every week. These university presidents should be thinking about what is best for the greater student population and are blinded by football money.; and I get it their job is to make money for the university. I don't know what the right answer is but it's a complex issue.

Part of the quarantine order includes an OR if they have a negative rapid test result within 72 hours of entering(returning to) Massachusetts. So that may very well be a part of their plan.

The funny thing is given that this year is going to be curtailed at best and may be cancelled at worst, I’d almost rather Jurk and Gill didn’t get their waivers so they’d be eligible for an extra (post-COVID) year down the road.

The unsung hero of the waiver is former BC soccer player, and more importantly friend of me and Bernie, BCDee. She started the #FreeJurk and kept tweeting media, NCAA and that French school... did it help? Who really knows but she kept it on their feeds many times a day

According to her, schedule re-release should be any minute

Home: Georgia Tech, Louisville, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Pitt
Away: Clemson, Duke, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech
They don't play division rivals Florida State, Wake Forrest, and NC State.
Have to make a decision on my tickets - my two good football friends are probably just going to roll over their ticket money to 2021. As I will with mine.

Not being an official alum of the school, but having lived on the campus for close to three years while I went to another college - my season ticket retention is my annual contribution/tithe to the school. Something that some, outside of the BC community, cannot comprehend.

Odd - Notre Dame is, in effect, playing this year as a member of the ACC, or , shall I say "eligible for the ACC title game".

Sorry for the OT, but how does this happen?

If you're asking about Notre Dame - I don't know but when I received the e-mail a couple weeks back, Notre Dame was added to the schedule with (I think) an asterisk - they will be eligible for the ACC title game.

If you're asking about living on the campus, that was back in the early 1970s. I'm an old man now.

If you're asking about why I renew my seats every year, it's my contribution to the school. I could give the money directly to the Fides or Flynn fund but I'm not in a position to itemize on my taxes anymore, so the ~$600 or so "contribution" helps the school, and getting to go to home games with a seat on the 35-yard line is, as I see it, a bonus.

You are very loyal. I can not understand why the AC lets ND to get away with it.

Pretty neat trick for a non-BC student living on the BC campus back in the day where housing there was hard to get (I lived in Framingham and was told I couldn't get a room there my freshman year at least; hence, I went elsewhere). :eyeroll:

Meanwhile, over at Colorado ”Covid“ State...

“Colorado State president Joyce McConnell has responded to a report that football coaches at the school were attempting to cover up COVID-19 cases and told players not to report their symptoms.”

She is definitely a passionate fan. Met her and her husband (a huge Clemson fan and alum) at the BC/Clemson game. Moose ... hope you are well!

@doldmoose34 calling Adazzio "the Fauci of Fort Collins" will forever be the funniest thing I've ever heard.

I assume many head coaches are doing similar things -- Heck, Nick Saban probably throws all the testing kits into the Black Warrior River at the end of every practice and then tersely reports"no positives" to the compliant SEC press.

So where was this ruthlessness when Adazzio was at BC?

Addazio may be gone before he even starts. This is a statement from the AD.

“Today, we learned of some extremely troubling allegations of racism and verbal abuse from CSU’s athletic administration generally and in the football program specifically.

I have consulted with President McConnell about these new allegations, which obviously deeply concern her as well. Effective immediately, and for the best interests of our student-athletes, I am pausing all football-related activities indefinitely. This includes practices, workouts, and team meetings. I have also asked President McConnell to expand the independent investigation she announced on Tuesday to include a comprehensive review of our athletic department and football program specifically related to allegations of racism and verbal abuse.”

All the shots (deservedly so) that ex-players (one for sure was Black) and others took at him while he was at BC, no one accused him of that. Not at Florida or Temple, either.

I slept on a couch in the mods. I used the libraries. I bought football tickets (and still have them). Gotta give back. I always tell people, that's where I grew up and became a man.

A friend of a source is saying (grain of salt, etc) that BC is trying to get state approval to have fans starting the 2nd home game.

I just hope we don't have to wait too long to see that the optimism in this thread is well-founded.
He deserves the same latitude as every new coach. I’m comfortable in predicting that if he doesn’t succeed, it won’t be because he’s complacent or stubborn. This is a guy who “gets it”.

I trust that most BC fans feel like Shank was full of it when he wrote that there shouldn't be a season. Let's hope whether you're a big BC fan or not it would be nice if "zero positive Covid tests" is still true when the games start.

Game time for this week should be 12Noon. Should be on NESN or NESN+ but I need to double-check on Wednesday.
