Wonder if Kuechly would have interest in working on the BC staff?
Ordinarily I would say hell yes, but the new LB coach is my favorite Hafley hire, former Eagle LB Sean Duggan, 2014 captain who also worked with Hafley at tOSU so they should have chemistry. (and also a Xavier High product like Kuechly) But maybe they can have Kuechly do something with recruiting, or just adjustment to college and help Beekman's staff (I assume he's staying). LK would no doubt be helpful to the program.

Interesting to see Hafley speak between periods of the BC-BU hockey game last Saturday. Seems genuinely concerned with starting to get a new culture going at the school. Seems quite different from his predecessors in that regard.

Is Brown healthy enough to play in 2020; or would it be 2021?

I kind of think he's not the best qb they have; but if I'm wrong and the guy flourished, this would be another reason canning Addazio was a good move.

Would anyone that knows anything about college football prospects (certainly not me) say that there are 5, let alone 10, big time prospects from Mass. in a season? This guy is supposedly #8.

Harbaugh's brought in 3 guys from Mass. in the same class.

Yeah. Kenney’s comment is spot on. They’re fishing in shallow ponds. Good luck beating tOSU with our guys.

Losing Jarmond would hurt a lot because of timing with COVID but I think we all knew he wasn't long term here. He's a rising star and BC is a stepping stone, which is OK. I'm surprised he's a finalist at UCLA without making a MBB hire and him looking to make a move tells me all the more that the only reason Christian is still coach is due to COVID. Nailing the two $$ sports hires would look really good on a resumé.

In an ideal world, Jarmond is here another 18-24 months, hires a new MBB coach and is working with Hafley for two recruiting cycles. Even if he doesn't get the UCLA job, I think it makes it all the more likely that he is gone by next spring.

The Umass guy's got hockey as a highlight, nothing else.

What about all the people Blossom brought in- is one of them ready to step up?

Tuukka's refugee camp
We apparently got a new AD. Pat Kraft from Temple, previously in Asst. AD roles at Loyola-Chicago and Indiana. Seems to be a good hire. Young, BB and FB hiring experience, good at fundraising. Probably all you can ask for at BC.

Based on his past schools, I assume he cares about basketball and we can get rid of Christian soon and remember that we play in the best college basketball conference on the planet.

A little underwhelmed - I always fall on the side of hiring someone from a P5 school even if they may have less experience because they will nonetheless have better connections (Jarmond/Hafley being example 1A). But, I can understand BC perhaps being a bit hesitant to hire another candidate that is likely to leave in the next 2-3 years - maybe Kraft is a good middle ground as he's young and brings some key strengths but is also more likely to stay at BC long term.

Seems better than Bates but not as good as Martin. Just find me a hoops coach.

I saw a theory earlier that the NCAA is granting all these eligibility waivers since they know there won't be a season anyways. I assume they'll treat football like the spring sports and these kids won't lose any eligibility if that's the case

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think Duke, Wake, and UNC will lead the ACC into canceling. They're all affiliated with pretty great hospital systems, right? I think that's the difference between them and BC. They're closer to the current carnage.

(No offense to Newton/Wellesley)

Miami's the current epicenter of the pandemic in the US. That would not bode well for the Canes fielding a team.

Ironically, the old 9 team Big East basketball league would have a chance to play unscathed.

BC is given the green light.

Anyone else in MA actually playing FB? If not, game 11 must be a home game per the rules.

https://bceagles.com/news/2020/7/29/acc-announces-plans-for-football-and-fall-olympic-sports.aspx
ACC Football:
  • The season's first games will take place the week of Sept. 7-12
  • The 2020 scheduling model includes 11 games (10 plus one: 10 conference and one non-conference)
  • All non-conference game opponents, selected by the respective school, must be played in the home state of the ACC institution, and all non-conference opponents must meet the medical protocol requirements as agreed upon by the ACC
  • The 11 games will be played over at least 13 weeks with each team having two open dates
  • There will be one division
  • Notre Dame will also play a 10-game conference schedule and be eligible to compete in the 2020 ACC Football Championship Game
  • All television revenue for the 2020 season, including Notre Dame's home games broadcast by NBC, will be shared equally by all 15 institutions
  • The ACC Football Championship Game will be played on either December 12 or 19 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, and will feature the top two teams based upon highest conference-game winning percentage
  • All 15 teams will continue to be part of the ACC's bowl selection process; should Notre Dame win the ACC Football Championship Game they would be eligible for the Orange Bowl, if not selected as a College Football Playoff semifinal team
  • The 2020 ACC Football week-by-week schedule and television selections will be released in the future
