Big 10 losing on the ice, too. Wisco down 5-1. Gophers only team left 30 min from now.

No Dak and Duluth are in 4OT. Duluth’s goalie cramped up and had to be taken out 5 minutes into 4OT. Can’t say I’ve seen that before.

Rough stretch for BC goalie Knight. Gave up 3 goals with one in the last minute of play that was overturned from no goal to goal. 3-1 St. Cloud after two.
BC totally flat in the third still down 3-1. They look like toast.

St. Cloud adds an EN to cap it at 4-1. They totally out worked and out hustled BC for the deserved win. Minnesota will have 3 teams in the Frozen Four.

Hopefully UMass can do the state (and the region for that matter) proud in Pittsburgh.

Another disappointing postseason for BC. I don't know what is it, maybe too finesse. That's their style though. Don't know what York was doing with the early timeout. If you need to take it then after icings, maybe have your team be better conditioned and/or be better puck possessors in your own zone. But that's hindsight I guess.

Go Minutemen/Hockey East.

The game yesterday was a replay of the BC UML Playoff game. We get a lead, even 1-0 and the other team comes out shooting the fucking puck all the time from All angles. I don’t know what wrong, but the usual late season runs have been missing since Cavanaugh left for Yukon and Greg Brown went to the Rangers. We were always like the Pats.. putting things together for the late season run. But now we’re more a team built for the regular season success, which we all know doesn’t mean shit for BC Hockey, it’s Beanpots, HE Championships and NCAAs that count... like with Bill I’ve always had 100% confidence in Jerry, I hope that, with the 2nd youngest team in the tournament we’ll be back next year.

and I’ll be rooting for the Aggies, I can’t believe I just typed that.Better then then Kenmore Kommunity Kollege

Umass down 2-1 thru 2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't UMass without it's top player and top 2 goalies due to Covid? I mean you can't get more disadvantaged than that.going into a huge game.

Top goalie anyway. I think the guy in there now is #2. Either way, he's pretty good -- the only two goals were on defensive breakdowns.

Now 2-2. Does ZooMass still have a shot?
(and do they still call it ZooMass? They did back in my day)

Down their 1st and 3rd goalies, top scorer, and a 3rd liner

Their current backup is the equipment guy (played some G in HS)

I kind of want to see him get in

This intermission is taking forever

What a fucking beatdown in overtime, would have been a shame to lose after that

Lot of heart by UMass in that one. UMD looked like the much better team two periods in but UMass won the 3rd and completely dominated the OT. Would have been over quicker if not for their goalie.

I started going to UMass games in 1996. I was home and away for a chunk of time in the late 90s and early 2000s.

The Carvel era (credit to the Bamford era for bringing it about) has been unbeliveable by the truest definition of the word.

Just watched the OT game winner. That was about the laziest play you'll see in a team's own zone. UMD had all kinds of time while UMass was changing and didn't do much. Then the turnover and fresh UMass legs results in the puck end up in the back of the net.

They were completely gassed. UMass had run them ragged in the 3rd and especially OT. They were only rolling 3 lines as well...

One more Minuteman win and I'll bet the house that a week from Sunday there'll be another Bob Hohler Umass hit piece in the Globe.

Hockey was a club sport I think when I went to UMass in the 70's. No rink. Pumped and jacked for the title game.
they were pretty good D2 and used to play at Orr rink at Amherst college...the program got killed in 1979 due to state budget cuts. Brought back as a D1 in 1994, I started at UMass the next fall.

Thanks, UMass, for defending the honor of the Hockey East conference.

Good win.

Sorry, "State of Hockey"

This program has been the conference doormat for the better part of 25 years. Then all of a sudden, bam, two Frozen Fours and a championship. It's unbelievable.

I love the guy for what he did for the program, but every time I see Mottau, I wonder why he isn't doing radio.
