Thiago on for Keita. I get that Keita's energy and directness could be assets in this match up, but where has been all match? Maybe Thiago can provide some rhythm and possession?

The bigger question is, what can Klopp do to keep Trent from getting abused like a public toilet on St. Patty's Day?

Edit: And now Kabak is trying to upstage TAA...

Somehow, they have looked worse today than at any point during the February-early March skid.

The opposition has been quality, but it could easily be 3 or 4-0 to Real.

If this was a hockey game, you'd bench the whole line and double shift another line. What happened to Curtis Jones? He was our best player for a while back in Feb/March.

Just an appalling performance by Liverpool. Give-always galore , often in really dangerous parts of the field, lethargic, sluggish , bad defence , you name it.

The tie isn’t over but they have to get an away goal. Can’t possibly play any worse.

Halftime talk seems to have helped. Trent especially looks lovely

*lively but I’ll keep it because that pass to Jota was pretty

Horrifyingly bad bailout call after Ederson giftwraps Bellingham a goal to keep Dortmund scoreless.
A horrible performance by the referee. You just can't whistle play dead when a player can just tap the ball into a completely empty goal. Let him score, blow the whistle and let the VAR check in case it was a missed call (which it was IMO).
On top of that he took back the penalty after a non-foul by Can when the VAR corrected him, but kept the yellow card on the board.

BVB has shown this year more than enough that they can screw up their games completely on their own. The ref doesn't need to help them fuck up this season, when they surprisingly play well against a worldclass team like ManCity...

It was a terrible call. The Can thing was semi normal embellishment of something like actual contact so whatever I guess but the non goal is far too impactful a decision. It should have been a goal and it isn’t Ok to wrongly rule off goals in a 2 leg tie there just isn’t time for it to “even out”

Keylor Navas is having himself a match. Unfortunately for PSG who have a 1 goal lead he’s already made a handful od world class saves

Mbappe is the MF Truth. Even when I think he takes a bad touch, A) he can recover from it, and B) he's good enough to use it as a setup for a goal anyway. Mbappe vs. Haaland should be a lot of fun over the next few years.

Chelsea-Porto with no shots on frame yet but Kanta is putting on a vintage performance so far. He's everywhere all at once like back in the Leicester days. It's a reminder of how dumb it was to bring in Jorginho.

This seems like such a classic Neymar game. Controlling the game, constantly threatening, two hit posts, two missed 1v1s, whiffing on a tap-in, several drawn fouls, at least one awful dive ... no goals and PSG are clinging to advancement.

This is one of the most entertaining two-legged ties I can remember. Chances galore both ways in both legs.

PSG made heavy weather of that. Thought they'd get a goal at some point. Great tie though. Two really good sides going at it. Brilliant entertainment.

Interesting that La Marca would announce that this is “the end” for these 4 lovable scamps.

I guess we're more concerned with their 0 then our 2 with this lineup...blech

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson; Fabinho, James Milner, Wijnaldum; Salah, Mane, Firmino

Substitutes: Adrian, H.Davies, Thiago, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jota, Tsimikas, Shaqiri, B.Davies, R.Williams, Cain, Clarkson

Real Madrid: Courtois; Valverde, Militao, Nacho, Mendy; Casemiro, Kroos, Modric; Asensio, Vinicius Jr, Benzema

Substitutes: Lunin, Altube, Marcelo, Odriozola, Isco, Mariano, Rodrygo, Marvin, Arribas, Chust

Klopp's selection today:

Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson, Milner, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane.
Subs: Thiago, Keita, Adrian, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jota, Tsimikas, Shaqiri, Ben Davies, Rhys Williams, Harvey Davies, Cain, Clarkson.
Curtis Jones has a muscle injury, so it's Milner in the Middle today. Bringing back Firmino should mean a lot less space and time for Kroos & Mordric. But it also means Salah & Mane are going to have to play Mick & Keef if Liverpool want any satisfaction today.
