Radio is talking...is there any player in baseball you would trade Raffy for right now? (Considering contract, team control etc...)
Interesting question to consider.
He is #14 on the MLB Trade Value list released today by Fangraphs which attempts to determine exactly that, #1-#10 come tomorrow.

Devers has more rbi against the blue jays this season (28) than anyone has against them in a single season. He actually set the record yesterday with 25 so apologies if this was noted then

There is very little to bitch about today except to urge folks to study the difference between less and fewer. And wouldn't the team be better if JDM went back to taking a pitch now and then? Or is his back bothering him so much that he can't wait to get his at bat over?

In a "down" year Mookie is still leading the league in runs and today tied the Sox record for scoring at least one run in 13 straight games.

Unless he starts completely destroying the ball, I cant see JDM opting out of his contract after this year. And if he does, Im not sure we should really try and re-sign him on a longer contract. JDM with an OPS over 1.000 is a valuable DH, JDM this year is essentially Edwin Encarnacion

If he opts out it’s “thanks for the memories and good luck!”

JD also has an opt-out after the 3rd year if I recall. maybe the best outcome will be he opts in, rebounds in 2020, and we let him move on about to be 34 years old.

Remember when we used to see a replay of a big play during the preceding half inning - like, say, a home run - before going to commercials?

Not anymore though. Have to switch from the last out of the inning right into a commercial as quickly as possible - 1, to squeeze in as much commercial time as possible, and, even more important, 2, to make sure people don't have a chance to mute or change the channel before the commercial comes on.

It's gotten to the point where, when something looks like it will be the last play of the inning, I mute and minimize the window before the play is even over. Which, with replay now, has caused me to miss some stuff. But I can do without commercials blaring in my ears.

Bellinger, Tatis Jr, Yelich (but not as much control there), maybe Acuña, maybe Juan Soto.

That’s probably the end of the list for me. Which is crazy to think about.

Man those are two big, relatively clean innings. Not something the pen usually gives us and super helpful given how things have been going lately. Who gets the 9th? Walden hasn't pitched since the 15th... maybe we start him off out there.
