Where it rains. No, seriously.
I dunno. That’s one of he extremely rare shots I’m confident I could’ve hit better than what he chose. He was 269 from the hole. Pretty easy for him to punch it on the same line he hit his 3-wood to within wedge range, and not even flirt with the bunker on the left.
I’ll disagree. He would need to take a four-iron and hit a low punch cut over the corner of the bunker (maybe 120 yards to cover) without it running through the fairway on the right to be blocked out by the tree.

I suppose he could have bunted it fifty yards, but I think his play was right. He just started it on the wrong line.

Yup, he hit a poor shot, and ended up with about as bad a situation as he could have. (Obviously he could have double crossed, and hit a pull hook into the ocea, but that was a longshot). Koepka couldn't make a putt today, but man it really felt like he played about 64/65 golf today from tee to green. He has a chance tomorrow. Real problem for Keopka was hitting a very poor drive , which ballooned onhim

Woodland played good golf today, but man did he catch some seriously luck out there. He his 3 horrible shots on 14, and somehow stole the par. Still shocked that didn't end up rolling down, and being a 7

By the way, 10 hours of golf is kind of cool, but with 2 minutes of commercials every 5 minutes the day really dragged, and I'd love to see some Master Uninterupted coverage out there

It may not have mattered, but he had 100 yards to the beginning of the bunker down the left side, which would have left him about 160 in. Or, if he stayed a little right, he had about 140 to where the bunker juts out, leaving him a wedge in. And the left side of the fairway is where you WANT to approach from. That tree is always in play on the right side. He’s not necessarily going to make the birdie putt, but I still think it’s the percentage play vs. either what happened, or the potential pull into the water.

I saw a snippet of some interview with Koepka where he said he has NEVER had a hot drink. Not coffee, not tea, not hot chocolate, hot toddy, nothing. The guy truly is a robot and I hate him.

Though I also hate Woodland. Let's go Rosey!

I'm not exactly going out on a limb but I think McIlroy and the folks ahead of him are in it. Someone outside won't challenge for the victory.

If I had to guess I think Woodland crumbles under the pressure to Koepka or Rose, but Oosthuizen as my outside pick.

I honestly don't know how you root for guys like Speith and Koepka but have trouble with Woodland.
He's boring but that story with Amy was incredible and made me tear up. I just don't have any affinity for Woodland. I don't root against him, I just think he's boring, just like Koepka, actually.

I think it will take double digits under par to win I don't think Woodland finishes double digits under par

That's fair I guess, he is kind of vanilla. I've always liked him because he hits the ball a mile but has such an easy tempo to do it; I tend to oversewing and have literally watched YouTube videos of him to get myself to mentally simmer down.

I've rooted for him for a while. The story with the special needs girl also means a lot to me; I spent many years working with Special Olympics (and wish I had time to still do it); I had seen that piece previously (I forget when, but either online or during another tournament) so I've been pretty psyched he's contending.

The piece with Amy was great, but she was obviously the real star there. It would have been hard for anyone to NOT be blown away by her. That said, I’d be fine with Woodland holding on. I think I’m in anyone-but-Brooks territory today.

From the early tee times we can see Kinhult at -4 through 12 and Wise at -3 through 8. Like much of the tournament strokes can be picked up on the front 9 today with the conditions.

I thought I saw a stat yesterday that said the field was massively under par on the 1st 7 holes, and something like +600 on holes 8-18 for the week. So yeah, need to make some birdies on the front 9.

Man, to me, the Masters just kicks the Open’s butt these days. Tiger being out of this one doesn’t help.

I get that the World Cup is a big deal for those into soccer but not starting the golf coverage at noon on FS1 today is weak sauce. It’s still father’s day! Give us golf!
I doubt if anything in the final round, even at Pebble, will provide as much excitement as USA’s game v Chile today, and that wasn’t close. I played a lot of golf and no soccer, although I coached it.

Thank you for telling me what things I should find to be exciting. I don’t know what I would do without that advice. Can you now please tell me which foods I should like? Thanks.

Yeah even with #2 playing as a tough par 4 instead of a par 5, there are 4-5 birdie holes on the first 7, Of course it is a US Open, so the rough quickly turns birdie holes into challenges

Man oh man that's as bad a drive as you will see Koepka miss by, but assuming it is still in play, but man that went a long way, so he may be just fine

Turns out he wastn fine, and is now in a whole heap of trouble

and nope, he hits to 5 feet

Feels like Rose has been smoke and mirrors all week. I know he’s in 2nd but I don’t think he hangs in there, too wild tee to green.

I think this is Brooks and Woodland.

I’d love to see a first time winner so I’m pulling for woodland but man it’s hard to root against Koepka. Great player. Good dude. Anyone that doesn’t like him needs to go listen to his interview on PMT
