Rory is +2 on the par 5s for the first two days and will still be only a few shots back going into the weekend. Talk about a missed opportunity to run away with it.

Gary Woodland just put on a putting clinic. Holy cow.

Rob is on the cut line at +2..... it'd be nice to see him here before the end of the broadcast.

24 people finished +2, causing the field to be pretty large for the last two rounds. 79 golfers are still playing, and they started with 156.

Patrick Reed is the best. I love him. I know that people hate him but golf needs a guy like him. He keeps it interesting in a different way then everyone else. It would be bad if the pga tour had too many Patrick Reed types for sure. But having one is on balance a good thing.

Without sun to dry out the greens, you can shoot a pretty low score for a US Open, but still a lot of places to give back strokes like we saw with Rickie yesterday. I think the winner will be around -11 or -12 and could be someone coming from even or -1 today.

Phil discussed hitting driver, lol, then hit a monstrously good 2 iron.

Tiger made a run and then had a very weak Par on the Par 5 and just three putted horrendously. Two bad holes. Alas, he wasn't really in the running anyway.

We’re about to have a Buck-Nantz moment. Buck needs to get over the hangdog and remember that this remains a compelling field.

I gobble it up, but realistically they are challenged to fill 11 straight hours of air time with a west coast tournament.

Bunker left and tree right make chopping a low iron down the fairway to a decent spot really difficult.
I dunno. That’s one of he extremely rare shots I’m confident I could’ve hit better than what he chose. He was 269 from the hole. Pretty easy for him to punch it on the same line he hit his 3-wood to within wedge range, and not even flirt with the bunker on the left.
