Good call. The first fight probably went to his head. If he keeps it on the ground, DC probably dominates.
I mean, he won the first 3 rounds and had Stipe looking befuddled. He should’ve just tucked his elbows better and stopped reaching out after he took that first body shot and he would’ve cruised.

Stipe wasn’t really setting up most of those hooks with jabs, lead rights or angles. Cormier just kept basically squaring up and taking damage in the most painful spot possible.

First one might have done it. De La Hoya was on the canvas groaning after Hopkins hit him with one. I wonder if DC was fucked up and trying to play it cool.

Hopkins hit DLH just right in those floating ribs. That’s the killer. Stipe was landing either higher or lower.

He was the same heights as DC
DC might be the freakiest athlete this side of Bo Jackson. Guy looks like a fat dude that likes to bench press in his basement and maybe has some IT job for a government agency AND he can pick up any man in the world and fucking LAUNCH them. He is also 5’8”, 40, and coming off back surgery

What a night.

I do wonder if what Rogan said in the broadcast was legit about Stipe taking the first DC fight too soon after Ngannou. Tonight he seemed to be hit with some good shots and ate them.

I’m glad he’s the champ again. Love me some Stipe.

I wonder if and when we’ll see the evolutionary UFC heavyweight champion. Could be Francis. Or maybe there’ll be an American fighter with a weird path like Deontay Wilder, but I’ve yet to see a total package in that division.

Conor, Khabib, and Holloway are lucky they have weight classes not height classes

It's been a long, long time since I watched 3 great fights I was invested in.

Well eventually it'll be Jones. Sometimes I think I'm too tough on the HWs. They just don't have the talent pool of the smaller classes.

(Still if I was Stipes coach I'd lock him in a kickboxing gym and throw away the key)

It is going to have to be a converted wrestler that is a natural at boxing. There just are not that many big athletic guys that can’t make more money doing something else. I’ve been in a lot of gyms and it is rare to see a legit HW (someone that can’t make 205) that can move.

Ive known a very good pro since he was 17 or 18 years old. Fucking kid was way over 200lbs, he fights 170. He was not fat.

Then let’s say you find one. When you do have one, they have no one to train with.

You think he won those first 3?

I think he 10-8'd round 1 but lost every other round.

Very true. But I’m not sure he could continuously do that. We were talking about it last night but I do wonder how DC’s gas tank is at Heavyweight. I love the guy but he isn’t exactly the example of fitness. His last time going more than three rounds at heavyweight was more than 7 years ago and now he’s 40.

Sadly for us Stipe fans I think Ngannou is going to best him the second time around.

Is that controversial? I thought I read he was ahead on every scorecard, but I also didn’t think Round 1 was anywhere near 10-8.

the barrier for what a 10-8 is has been lowered a lot for what its worth. he slammed stipe and held him down for the rest of the round. i think that could be considered for 10-8.

Diaz vs Masvidal the official headliner for ufc 244 at MSG.

242 just started. I’m watching a stream on my ps4. Can’t justify buying this one.

Just come here dude. I posted one above and no one even asked ;)

Went pretty much as expected, unless you thought that THIS time the oppenent’a standup was going to be too much for him.
That didn’t work for me. They wanted me to sign up, which I don’t trust.

You're doing something wrong then. No sign up is necessary for the link I provided yesterday at 10:24 am.
Sorry, I misremembered. It told me to upgrade my flash player and I wasn’t sure whether that was legit.

Watching the fight night card on ESPN+, and I've got to say, I love watching guys like Chas Skelly out there getting after it. Fun fighter. Darren Elkins is one of those guys for me too.

Edit: Of course while scrappy non-contenders are fun, I'm really looking forward to Cerrone vs. Gaethje later.

I hate The Damage Elkins just because he’s Team Alpha Male. But I agree he is fun to watch.

Main event should be fun but I have Gaetjche winning in ugly fashion.
