It's early for this but I am pretty juiced up. I bought season tickets even though I live in NJ (hoping to get to at least 3 games including Clemson and BC) and they are working overtime to push sales for Clemson towards what will likely be the closest thing to a sellout since the late 90s.

Expectations are high off a 10-3 season, but it remains to be seen how the offense responds post-Dungey. The first 2 games on the road at Liberty and Maryland will speak volumes. They have no excuse not to beat Liberty. And if they are able to win at Maryland, not a great team but not a creampuff, it will position them nicely for that Clemson home opener.

You can really screw up uniforms with bad numbers and Syracuse has nicely rectified that problem.

Another one that should do something like that is BC...suffer from what seems to be an Under Armor problem which is making the font size too small.

Syracuse has set it's all time record for single season ticket sales, has sold out clemson, and has less than 900 season tickets remaining.

I'm excited. That said realistic Rookie QB. I expect a small step back. But hopefully 9-4 still after a bowl. Our defense is going to be very very good.

And if we somehow can beat Clemson at home and get to 3-0? Hold on...

Really hard to gauge much today with a 24-0 win at Liberty.

- I thought the Devito learning curve may be a bit shorter than it looks like it will be. He struggled pretty badly. That being said, i think he'll be fine. Needs to get better in a hurry though.
- Defense looked exceptional. Again, though, prob skewed a bit by the opponent. But I think this is going to be a top 15 defense in the nation this year and will be top 10 in some categories.
- First true road shutout since 1991 against a clearly lesser team, but not a doormat. D-1 opponent who was 6-6 last year and 5-1 at home.

All told, I'll take it. Lots of work to do as we walk into the building of a team that dramatically overperformed today and won 79-0 at home.

They still may. They just arent great. ACC play starts now. 3-2. Can they get to 7-5? Possible, albeit will be a climb. First year starter en route to build more, that would be a solid year. I'll take it.

Yeesh, they might as well have just cancelled Syracuse football this fall and used the time to rebuild the (Don't-call-it-the-Carrier) Dome in time for basketball. They are going to have an uphill climb convincing fans in this city to buy back into the Dino Babers hype after this turd of a season.

276 points allowed in 9 games. 30.7 per game.

How did the defense suddenly get so awful?

We are ranked...felt like the team deserved a reboot of this thread.

I'll be heading up for Homecoming and the Wagner game...should likely get them to 5-0. Then, a likely battle of 2 ranked teams in NC state and Syracuse. Could be a fantastic game.

The schedule gets very very tough after Wagner. I would not be surprised if they came back to reality a bit, but I just want a bowl and hopefully at least 8 wins.

Sorry. As a Cuse fan I have been trained to pay more attention to the Coaches Poll because for some reason we always seem top break into that one a week or two prior to the AP

5-0 for the first time since....I was a freshman in college (fall of '87). That season went pretty well as I recall.

It's nice to be kinda sorta relevant again.

Agreed. Tough stretch coming up. NC State win would be huge. Would insulate us for what will be a very hard game (and somewhat likely loss) at Clemson, and get us bowl eligible. And keep us in the obviously silly but still fun "national title" discussion for one more week.

Closing in on a sellout here. ~125 tickets remaining (not including probably 1K sitting on the secondary market...but those are still "sold" so they count)

We are going bowling.

Clemson is going to be brutal, but there's not another game on that schedule I dont think we have a real chance in

6-0. Crazy. They took care of business yesterday. Very impressed. I think they will go 3-3 the rest of the way and finish 9-3 and go to a really good bowl. Very nice season when I had pretty low expectations coming in.

Now maybe SU hoops will similarly surprise.....

Terrible loss to Clemson last week - aided and abetted by the refs but still - and then a no-show from the word "go" this weekend at home against Notre Dame. Yeah, SU is going bowling, and will crush BC and maybe win one more here but suddenly they went from a really good team to...not that great in short order.
