I'm just tired. Clearly ownership doesn't give a rats ass about the garbage that is Tomlin and his two dumbass coordinators.

I’m really not trying to troll at all here, but the last 3 posts were my recent update once I clicked the thread and to read them all back-back-back would rival Tom Emanski success.
Hey, I tried to be optimistic about the season and it took one half of football to realize this team has no chance of getting past the Pats. Tomlin is simply owned by BB and Brady.

It’s insane that this is how fans of the second best franchise of the last twenty years is feeling right now. I mean, I get the context but still...

It's unusual and probably difficult for a QB to be really good (which he is), but not much of a leader by nature.

On other pittsburghers.....
I finally got around to reading this SI profile of Schuster that's been piled on my floor for 3 weeks. I know a puff piece when I see one, but even with many grains of salt, I find it hard to dislike him.

Honestly, after last week in New England, it was abundantly clear the changes this team and organization needed to make had not been. Too early to call it a season, but their schedule doesn't get much easier the next two weeks.

I wonder whether that's basically it for Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh. They'll get a long look at Rudolph this year and, if he's not very good, they'll probably be picking in the top 10 and in the mix for guys like Herbert and Fromm. Using this as an opportunity to find their next quarterback is probably the smart thing to do, even if it means eating a lot of dead money (25M against a 33M cap hit) in the near term.

Wow, that season turned in a hurry. Losing Roethlisberger obviously nukes 2019 but it could be a good thing long-term, because they have to move on at *some* point.

Well, they did draft Mason Rudolph in R3 last year and were happy enough with him to trade prior backup Dobbs in camp this year.

Rudolph could sling it at OKST. Who knows if he was drafted in mind to be the Big Ben long term replacement or cheap backup.

This probably bought Tomlin a few more years too, since it clearly isn't his fault the team will struggle, it is the Ben injury.

Any word on the nature of the injury? Elbow injuries would seem to be more common to baseball pitchers than football quarterbacks, unless his arm was wrenched or driven into the ground.

edit: believed to be a UCL, and that he will undergo TJ surgery

Bradshaw's career ended due to an elbow injury so the potential symmetry is a bit jarring.

This probably bought Tomlin a few more years too, since it clearly isn't his fault the team will struggle, it is the Ben injury.
Given that they always find an excuse to keep him around, I fear this is going to come to fruition.

What's the word if any on Conner's knee? Have they announced that? He didn't come back yesterday either. Not as big a deal as Ben but still...

MRI today. We should hear something in next few hours. Early reports are that it’s not a serious injury.

I’ve got no love for the Steelers but man what looked to be a promising season went to hell quickly. They’re done. Two weeks in and their season is over. Time to start the planning for 2020 and beyond.

I have nothing against Steelers fans or the team itself, but Ben deserves to have his career end in a painful and unfulfilling way. He should’ve been out of football a decade ago.

Good news that Conner could be ready by Sunday...Rudolph is going to need him. They're absolutely playing with very low expectations at this point. Fully agree that this will give Tomlin cover for a couple more seasons.
