I wanted to sleep on it before commenting on last night's game.
I am seriously considering giving up on the league. That level of officiating incompetence, in the championship series no less, absolutely ruins the experience of being a fan for me. I have no confidence that the league will officiate the games in a way where the result will be fair. To allow the Blues to score the winner on a penalty so egregious, so crucial, with such negative consequences, with no call and no accountability, is the sign of a mickey mouse unprofessional league.
Cassidy tore the refs apart after the game as he should have. But the league allowed itself to be influenced by CRAIG FUCKING BERUBE, of all people, one of the most goonish useless players ever to suit up in the league. Berube complained about the refs, and instead of laughing at him and telling him to sleep it off, the league said "Hey cool, go crazy, we don't mind."
This is absolute bullshit. Maybe the Bruins wouldn't have won anyway, lord knows they can't get out of their own way offensively. But the refs took away any chance the Bruins had at winning. That's unacceptable.
