Between here and everywhere.
St Louis had more points in the second half than Tampa. They’ve been playing playoff hockey since January. This is a great team.
Yea - but their victory song is "Gloria," which is absolutely trash.

Nothing good has ever come from St. Louis. Not Nelly, not the Cardinals. not anything.

St. Louis is pretty similar to Boston, in terms of construction - but Boston is just a little bit better in everything St. Louis does well.

O'Reilly and Tarasenko are good - but Bergeron and Pastrnak are better. Binnington has had a good playoffs, Rask has had an elite playoffs. Pietrangelo is a solid defenseman. McAvoy has been better.

If the Bruins bring the same game they've played since game 5 against Columbus, the should have no problem sending these assholes back to their shitty city with shitty food.

Laura Branigan or Shadows of the Night "Gloria"? Cuz one of those is a great song.

I am looking forward to seeing Noel Picard tripping Bobby Orr out of frustration on repeat for the next couple of weeks.

It’s Branigan’s which is not good. I would take Van Morrison’s Gloria over all others.

Anyway here’s to the Bruins continuing the Boston franchises tradition of making the sports fans of St Louis miserable.

The Bruins have the better team and will win this in six.

Chuck Berry was from St. Louis. John Hartford grew up there. (although his fame came after he moved to Nashville).
OTOH--They sing a song about West Virginia to rile up the crowd.
I will almost feel sorry for Blues fans who will be subjected to a fucktillion Flying Orrs. Perhaps the folks at NBC will be kind and switch it up with shots of Vinatieri's SB FG and Jeff Suppan tripping over his dick rounding third.

Don't leave poor Kolten Wong out of the mix.

We got a betting line on the series yet?

I mean, I know we do, I just can't access from work...

Enough dominance by our teams over St Loo in recent times to bury Enos Slaughter and Bob Gibson I guess, huh? Also, Harry Brecheen won 3 games in the 1946 WS.

Congrats to this sad sack franchise, after a 49 year drought, they finally got back to the SCF.

When hockey expanded from 6 to 12 teams in 1968, they were gifted three strait trips to the SCF, where they got blitzkrieged 4-0 three times in a row.

Haven't had a whiff since; till now.

They were a broken toilet of a team earlier in the year, dead last in the league, so they fire their coach, hired Boris Karloff and throw a 14 year old ghoulie into the fire and here they are.

Destroy these bozos.

I'd like the Bruins to keep the streak alive since 1970... make it 8 out of 11

2013 World Series
2004 World Series
2001 Super Bowl
1970 Stanley Cup
1967 World Series - Lost
1961 NBA Finals
1960 NBA Finals
1958 NBA Finals - Lost
1957 NBA Finals
1946 World Series - Lost

In 52 games against the Bruins (more than all but 7 teams) Martin St. Louis put up a -12 rating (worse than all but 2 teams).

Bruins -155
Blues +135
That's probably national. My local, who has to absorb all the homers (he got hammered by the Pats) has:

Bruins -185
Blues +165

Game 1

Bruins -175
Blues +155

PL is only Bruins +150

O/U is 5 1/2 (O +115, U - 135) - favoring a low scoring first game, which makes sense

Interestingly, Binnington played in Providence last season, on loan. Who was their goalie coach, and is he still with the organization?

Maybe Grz, Clifton, or some of the black aces have some insight to offer.

That's pretty insane. It almost doesn't seem possible for two smallish cities (#9 and #21 media markets in current terms) to meet that many times in the Finals.

By way of comparison, in the same timeframe, Boston has met Chicago in the finals just once (1986 SB) and the Bay Area zero times (Sharks would have been the first, though obviously we've seen the A's plenty in the AL playoffs).

You’re forgetting the Bs-Blackhawks series.

Understandably....

Oops, d'oh yeah. More like because I haven't been a huge hockey fan since the days of Cam Neely, but that was a big oversight.

I've never rooted for any other team, tho, and remember rooting for Middleton-O'Reilly-McNab et al. as a tyke, so hopefully you guys won't mind if I jump on the gravy train for this series? I enjoy seeing people's furrowed brows when I tell them I'm a Sox/Warriors/Pats fan since childhood; it'd be fun to add the Bs to that list, even as a bandwagoner.

Between Providence goalie coach Mike Dunham & Jordan Binnington's former P-Bruins teammates, Boston should have good book on St. Louis netminder

I was gonna make some snarky comment about the recent Rams Pats SB but then I just felt bad about the fans of STL.

Here’s the scrimmage lineups for tonight, though they’ll move guys around with the situational stuff they plan on doing.

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Nordstrom - Kuraly - Acciari
Carey - Studnicka - Cehlarik/Senyshyn

Krug - Carlo
Moore - Kampfer
Vaakanainen

vs.

DeBrusk - Krejci - Backes
Johansson - Coyle - Heinen
Blidh - Frederic - Kuhlman

Chara - McAvoy
Grzelyck - Clifton
Lauzon - Zboril

I don’t think it’ll be much more than a glorified practice. Bruce said they would do thinks like PP, PK, 4x4, 6x5, etc so it won’t have a real game flow.

And NESN with no Red Sox tonight showed a Jesse Jackson interview. Followed by the Mookie story that’s been on a bunch. And then a replay of today’s game. It would have been nice for them to show it.

One thing I wish the Bruins would do that other teams do is open up TD Garden to fans for away games. You would think someone like Jacobs would jump on this revenue stream.

They are doing a watch party at City Hall Plaza. Opens up Monday at 4:30, with a Beer/Wine Garden and Food Trucks. Free concert by "big name" bands starts at 6:00, then obviously the game at 8.

Not to be a downer, but the Bruins and Blackhawks played in 2013...

Red Sox could play Nationals. Chargers could play 49ers, Rams could play Raiders.

True but the Bruins can never face the Capitals, nor could the Celtics face the Wizards.

NHL & NBA East/West structure is very limiting for which cities could actually match up in all four.

Also you throw in runs by teams without teams in other sports. The Celtics, red Sox will never play Edmonton's team or Green Bay's team, or Vancouver's team,

Under the old playoff format, Bruins could have faced Capitals and the Bullets were briefly a Western Conference team in the NBA.
