Jose Ramirez fouled a ball off his left leg below the knee and had to be carted off.

X-rays on Indians star Jose Ramirez showed no signs of a broken bone, a source tells ESPN. Excellent news for Cleveland, which is already missing Francisco Lindor. Timetable on Ramirez’s return unclear but Indians breathing a sigh of relief after he fouled a pitch off left leg.

This isn’t possible. I was assured that spring training stats were totally meaningless.
Spring training stats are meaningless. Spring training scouting and evaluation are hugely important.

I sure hope the Red Sox do a great job of internally scouting and evaluating our relievers this spring, they're banking a lot on it.

This is just one of those cool moments that makes baseball great. Chris Paddack caught my eye early last season when he was putting up some absolutely silly K/BB numbers in San Diego's system.

For those that have Twitter blocked, Paddack learned he had made the big league club when his manager came out to pull him from last night's game, with a little help from the Padres infield. The video shows his face light up like a little kid's, so much so that he had to hide his mouth behind his glove as he walked off the mound.
