WIth the release of Angry Doug Baldwin and Kam "Bam Bam" Chancellor, the Seahawks are left with only three players from their Super Bowl win: Russell Wilson, Bobby Wagner, and K.J. Wright.

And then there was one

I feel the need to pour one out for one of the most iconic defenses and teams of the decade. Teams change in the NFL, and out of curiosity I checked the NEP of the era...and I still think that team has yet 11 survivors. 3 left standing from an awesome team seems sad...so here's a 40 for the legion, etc.

Amazing team, amazing coaching job and talent selection...Will miss that group.

Was thinking...80s Bears, another superbly- iconic team I loved, was also a one-trophy wonder, with some real flash points.

Cheers, Wibi, Danoo, et al. Here's to the shirtless future!

I think one of the great what-ifs of the decade is what happens if Seattle wins the second title in a row. Do they win 1, 2, 3, more?

To be fair, Bobby Wagner might be the best player of the entire bunch (it's either him or Sherman), and you've still got him. That interception he made of Tom Brady in the super bowl was a thing of beauty - I've seen Brady make mistakes, but you never see him get played and fooled by someone successfully like what Wagner did there.

To me, the key players in that defense were (in order): Earl Thomas, Bobby Wagner, Michael Bennett. Everyone else had a role to play, but they were the key guys that kept it all together.

I think Carroll did a masterful job last season. The team has had a ton of turnover - which I guess is just how the NFL goes - but they were still pretty damn decent.

Them embarrassing Peyton Manning on the biggest sporting stage will be something I'm eternally grateful for.

I love Russell Wilson and think that with a proper offensive line, he is talented enough to carry that team to the playoffs.

The fact that there could be a separate thread that debates which player was the most valuable/talented on that Seahawk defense goes to show how great that bunch was. It was ET. Prove me wrong
